Yep. It's one of the better MMOs that I've played. It's a lot more casual than most though, as you don't need to grind for high-end gear, and it's quite playable in short bursts. Quest design is not quite as good as in The Secret World, but the actual gameplay feels smoother.

Yup, it's worth it for this price. You can solo to max level easily.
The game is really socially-oriented but you don't have to group or even talk if you're that kind of player. You just join an event when it appears on the minimap, do your stuff, get your reward and move on.
I won't recommend the Deluxe edition, unless you're a pet collector.

Ah, that sounds pretty good. I'm guessing those events are similar to rifts in, well.. Rift. And yeah, I won't bother with Deluxe edition then - I collect mounts, pets - not so much. Thanks.

I haven't played Rift myself but if i do remember correctly their events are inspired from Rift, so yeah...
I really enjoyed the leveling, it's probably my favorite from all the MMOs i played. That said, after reaching max level the game gets a bit boring after a while. If you do like grinding for cool gear it can keeps you for a long moment though.

I did all my playing solo. It's more fun to play with others, of course, but I still had fun solo. That, and the people in-game are friendly and will help you out if you need anything.

GW (and GW2) have always been really tempting. I love the idea of a B2P-MMO. After playing EQ for a number of years and dumping all of that money in subscription costs (and semi-annual expansions), I just can't do it again. I have too many other games to play to worry about having to get my money's worth from a game I'm paying for whether I play it or not.

It is very near a subscription model now, as any content released since the game came out, will cost you around $40-50 to acquire, plus there is an expansion coming out soon.

Except subscription models typically charge for expansions in addition to a monthly fee. The fact that you have to still buy the expansions isn't unusual. Those things don't make themselves (yet).

You are off by a large amount. It will cost you less than $20 to get the extra content that was released, and if you had played back when it was released, you would have got it for free. So no, it's not at all like a subscription model.

Servers only matter for world versus world, anything else you can do cross-server as long as your region is the same(Europe or NA)
