hi im new here and i want to do a giveaway

when i going to create a give away and im choosing game(i want to do it for hl2dm
will it charge my credit card or the 3 first giveaway are free??

please help!

No, it won't charge your credit card. You have to already own the game on Steam to give a game away. By creating a giveaway, you are saying that you already own the game and can give it away to the winner.

This site is not associated with Steam. You buy a game as a gift on Steam. You gift it here. How are people still confused about this?

Furthermore, HL2DM is free for anyone with a Nvidia or ATI card, which is like, everybody, so please, just don't create it.

not everyone has a qualified nvidia or ati card, but to be able to smoothly play the game you almost need one. Don't be so harsh to new members though. This guy is asking how he can contribute to the site we want to help him understand.

You have the patience of a saint then. I have no clue how someone can even get the idea that "first 3 giveaways are free." How does that thought even come into existance?

I suppose he thinks Valve is giving away 3 free games for every person.
How he imagines they would get the publishers to agree to this, and how it could possibly be profitable for them I have no idea.

This site is basically for people who have a spare copy of a game and don't have anyone to give it to. there's no point in a game sitting around and not getting played so they give it away randomly to someone here. If you open your steam interface, click on "games" menu, then click on "manage gifts and guest passes". Here you can see all the extra copies of games you have. If you really think this site is cool you can also purchase a game on steam specifically as a gift and then create a giveaway for it on this site. When the giveaway ends, the email address of the winner is given to the creator of the giveaway. The person giving away the game simply tells steam to send the gift-able copy to the winners email address.

In short, in order to give away a game you must purchase it on steam first. Make sure you read the SITE RULES/FAQ.
