I just have a question about Ubisoft games on steam that need you to log on with a uplay/ubisoft account... Ok so I want to play a ubisoft game on my steam library: it is asking me to enter my uplay/ubisoft email address and password. I have an uplay/ubisoft email address and password, however that email is different than my steam account's email and what is more, it is associated with my previous steam account (I had made that account 2 years ago when I first saw steam but don't have any games on it. I forgot I had that account when I made this new one...).

So my question is: would it be a problem if I used my uplay account that uses a different email to my steam account where the ubisoft game is located but is the same email as that used by another steam account that has no games (does valve cancel inactive empty steam accounts because if it does I don't really need to be asking this I suppose)?

So, in simpler terms: XX@yy.com steam account has a ubisoft game... my ubisoft account uses ww@qq.com and I have another steam account that also uses ww@qq.com... can I use the ubispft account using ww@qq.com to play the game on the steam account XX@yy.com

(I want to do this because of the stupid Uplay thing that gives reward points, which can be sued for ingame bonuses in this and other games- already have lots of points accumulated there and don't want to have a seperate uplay account...)

Your uPlay account is in no way associated with your steam account. It is only associated with your game. You can use your uPlay points on all games tied to your Ubi account, no matter what steam account you use.

ok, so I can use my uplay account regardless of what steam account I use to launch the game?

edit: someone told me that ubisoft reports the uplay account emails used to access the game to steam so that they can pair the emails and see if they match... that is why I wanted to ask and make sure this is not true/ find out if it is...

You should be fine to play it. Othetwise u could email steam support tell them what happened and they should be able to delete the old account for u. Otherwise i dont think they delete cause i had a account i made and then was inactive for lie 2 years and im still using that one to thisday

thanks berrondavis

edit: can I get my old account deleted by mailing support from the new one? I forgot the username I used to sign up for it and I also forgot the password for the account... can I find out my username or can I reset my password using my email account only?
