Is there a way to know who activated your keys? There should be a rule that people need to comment if they have received the game. Most reply comments are from people trying to activate games that have already been taken.

My opinion is that the key provider should say he has a key for a certain game and will send it to the first person who replies to his comment.
That way they know who gets the game. But it does bring a little more work than just drop the key here.

The thread I linked practically achieves that too, since people cannot simply take a key - they have to post that they are interested in a game to be granted the game. As a result, if you arrive in the thread you can see whether the game has been requested already.

The problem is that this topic can even be read by people not logged in. You can't expect people to thank you if you put it in the open, many many people don't care and don't even imagine there should be a "thank you" somewhere if they get the key. And ungrateful people are as capable of deciphering stuff than the others.

There is already a thread for that called anti ninja key drops thread.
This thread was supposed to be used for keys people are unsure of. So it kinda makes sense to not spend time adding someone as friend or other way to contact and then sending a key that might already be dup. Only real problem is sometimes people even give away a bundle of keys that are surely working which would have been perfect for the other thread.

This is the "Orphan Key' drop thread.
Meaning these keys are often already used, but left unmarked one way or another in an old text file.
For tracking who uses the key, people just post regular giveaways when they know the key works.
There's a trick, and also a browser add on that lets you check what the key is for, but i dont think it shows you if it has been used.
