Only salvageable part of the film was Wonder Woman I think, Ben Affleck wasn't bad either but the movie just couldn't be good, not the way it was written

Not really. Even Wonder Woman didn't play that well. I got mostly excited to see the future movies of Aquaman, Cyborg, and Flash.

She was hot tho... I didn't really like that they try to shove all of those movies down on us, it was like the whole purpose of bm vs sm was to pave the road for the rest of the jl movies... I also never really found aquaman too interesting, cyborg could be, and the flash idk, I feel like the tv show is enough for now

Well, I love seeing hot women, but that doesn't mean that a hot woman can make a movie look good. xD Aquaman looked totally interesting. I would love to see an underwater movie. xD Cyborg, well, I don't know before I check his movie out. :/ I don't have the slightest idea about Cyborg, but I'm still excited to see about him. Finally, Flash is awesome, so why not? Fast super heroes, like Flash and Quicksilver, are always awesome and funny. XD I've never seen his tv series.

Haha yeah ik, two separate things completely, even tho Scarlett Johansson pretty much does the same for marvel XD, cyborg has potential to be good, he is pretty neat, about flash, well yeah, he is my favorite dc superhero, but I don't think they'll be able to get it right, I guess it will depend a lot on the director they choose

It was by no means perfect but not even remotely as bad as everyone said it would be.

To be honest, me and my friends all agree we've had more fun with this movie than with Star Wars VII.

Nope. First of all, it was the first movie that included Batman, but I didn't like. Batman played well though.
MINOR SPOILERS (I doubt they are spoilers though):
When I watched the movie, I got mostly excited to see about the future movies of Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg. The movie itself wasn't good. Superman and Batman didn't appear to have their usual morals. The storyline was nonsense. Lex appeared to be a total psycho. I like dark movies, but this movie was a complete nonsense. And movies that include Batman, tend to be good, instead of disappointing like this one. :(

I repeat what I said: "It was the first movie that included Batman, but I didn't like". ;P I'm a hardcore fan of Batman. :'( Let's see if Suicide Squad is actually good, because it includes Batman too.

I can agree that the way they've put batman and superman in a conflict was kind of forced same with the way they become "friends". But why didn't it made sense?
To be honest I think that the next movies will be mind blowing due to this one being kind of vague

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It didn't make any sense, mostly Lex's part, and how this conflict and the later friendship was forced to be made. And where were their morals? And what was that with the branding? The movie was a disappointment.

Comment has been collapsed.

They just needed a lot of things in the movie and didn't had enough screen time. I think they've accomplished it just fine, I actually can't think of any other way they could make the conflict/friendship any better.
I wasn't that hyped up about the movie so I couldn't be that much disappointed

yah but that means more percentage of reviewers actually liked TASM 2 and FF(2005)

Comment has been collapsed.

Despite being a huge DC fan, I can see why critics liked TASM2 better, it focused on just 1 story and doesn't require much comic book knowledge to understand what's going on.
While on the other hand your average movie-goers won't understand many scenes in the film ("dream" sequence with Darkseid's parademons, Flash's timetravel, further complicated with Cyborg's creation with the motherbox etc )

Didn't like it and I'm a comic book fan. There's nothing inherently wrong with doing a set up for future movies, but mashing together 7 different story lines? WB is trying to catch up to Marvel, but quite frankly they shouldn't have to. Rightly or wrongly, Marvel took it's time setting it up. I have no idea what this was. WB would have made just as much money if not more if they A) Got rid of Zack Snyder. B) Took their time making the movie and setting up the pieces.

I said before, that time-wise they simply didn't have enough time to do the story justice. I was right. Also I'm tired of seeing the fact that killing people automatically makes a story dark. If we're working under the assumption that the Batman in the movie is Post-Jason Todd then there is no reason for the Joker to be alive. That is my problem with the movie.

Hell the whole reason Jason was angry at Batman in the Red Hood was because he wouldn't kill Joker. Like that's my problem with Batman and characterizing him like they did in the movie. The Joker and half of Batman's rogues gallery, should not be alive. So either the Joker is dead or he's locked in Arkham somewhere (if he's dead, I'm irritated because that's a waste. If he's alive and in Arkham Batman killing random assholes on the street makes no sense.) either way I'm tired of people lauding Frank Miller as one of the best comic book writers. He's not and even the crappiest writer can write gold once in a while.

Gritty and dark doesn't mean senseless violence and sex, nor does it mean killing people. Nor does WB have to do the Marvel jokes every two minutes. There is a balance and I think that going forth with Marvel we're going to start seeing that balance a bit better. Dr. Strange? Black Panther? I can't wait.

well yeah probably but you have to keep in mind it was not your regular movie gone crap. it was a super big budget movie that ended up being rather crap :P while i dont expect much from movies like Sharknado, i do have certain expectations when it comes to $250,000,000 movies so that should also be taken into consideration.

Yes. I liked it a lot as an action movie. Before, I had prejudged Ben Affleck as Batman but after I saw the movie I thought he was perfect for his role, even better than Bale. But it wasn't as depth as The Dark Knight or Batman Begins, but way better than Man of Steel and The Dark Knight Rises.

It is an ok movie. It gets a passing grade, not as awful as people make it to be but quite flawed nonetheless.

I mean at least it's not as balls-shatteringly boring as Man of Steel. I fell asleep during Man of Steel, I'm not even joking...

I laughed at most points on the film.
In the serious ones.

Also the film it's basically a mixup of two plots, Injustice and Superman's death but without the continuing of both of them. You could have done injustice and Superman would have killed Batman, or you would have had the other plot and then the resurrection of superman and all the other supermans clones and whatev

So it's stupid

Enjoyable, but very flawed movie.

  • They used the Death of Superman story arc way too soon, instead of Doomsday DC could of used a different villain that connected better to story they established in Man of Steel. EG: Metallo, would have been a good choice, relatively strong villain who could beat both Supes and Batman. And WB could have used the wheel chair guy for that role, then you got the motivation as well.
  • The Flashpoint Paradonx/Dream sequence was completely unneeded and it's confusing for those who are not into comics.
  • They shouldn't have used Jimmy for the film, if their only plan with him was to kill him off.
  • I'm ok, with the murderous Batman, since it was based on the Frank Miller version, but they could have explained it better why he became homicidal. (I'm guessing because Joker killed Robin, but then again they didn't explain it.)
  • The way they introduced the rest of the League was kinda lame.

Not as good as it could've been, but still worth watching.
Too much going on in terms of foreshadowing, which we could've done without.
Hoping they're actually going to release the director's cut this year which is said to be over 4 hours long.

Now, time for Jungle Book and Civil War! :D

  2. Ben's voice was good(not as good as Conroy) but better than Bale's stone gurgling voice
  3. Agree, but he looks convinving as Superman(after Christopher ofc)
  4. I thought the maniac, dark and devilish take on the character was nice
  5. Plot aint gr8 but not that bad

Well, I thought the action LOOKED cool, but it all FELT horrible. I don't think of Batman as a torturer and relentless killer, and I don't think of Superman as a remorseless manslaughterer! Worse, watching two people who are HEROES, people who(supposedly) HELP OTHERS IN NEED try to KILL each other is hard to watch. Maybe that's what they intended, I sure HOPE it's what they intended. The problem is, with both characters being practically EVIL THEMSELVES, I hadn't had anyone "HEROIC" to follow for a good amount of the movie! And there was SO much city damage I cringed at every explosion instead of enjoying the effects!

Personally, I thought Lex Luthor didn't give an awful performance, but why was he PSYCHOTIC? I thought he was supposed to be a bit egotistical, but not INSANE. Also, I expected him to be older looking and bald because that's how I'm used to seeing him portrayed.

Overall though, it was actually a somewhat enjoyable film, with enough thrills to keep me engaged. At least it's not a BORING movie.

P.S. There's a one percent chance you'll disagree with me, I better consider it an ACT OF WAR!!!!

He actually isnt Lex Luthor,u do know that dont u? He is Lex's son Alexander Luthor. And every superhero film has destruction(be it marvel or dc)

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I DIDN'T know that. That actually makes it make a TON more sense. Then my question would be why Lex Luthor isn't involved.

And yes, I know there was destruction, but I felt like my subjective experience of the portrayal of said destruction just felt more painful than normal to me.

Everything is nitpicks anyways, I just wanted to put in my opinion.

Yes and no. First 1h 30m was fucking slow and boring, Luthor's plan makes no sense altogether, there are also some HUGE flaws throughout the movie, and the last 30m or so felt extremely rushed.

But I kinda liked it
