Hi,

It has been a while since I've made a discussion here, but I was curious to know your thoughts on this.

What's one game or games you've enjoyed that were under 10p or 5p on Steamgfits? Do you recommend any?

I tend to skip those by filtering my games out in the search section to pick games between 10p and 50p.

I hope everybody is having a great week! Happy Gaming! 😄

Interesting puzzle. Thanks! I normally don't dwell in them, but it's nice to see them recommended.

Right now both Glass Masquerade games with all DLCs are below 10p. IMHO highly recommended, a different thing and very pleasant to play.

I got Glass Masquerade for free a few years ago. I loved it so much that I bought the DLC. It's definitely worth playing.

I've heard of the Monkey Island, but as a kid never played them. I've got it on my wishlist just in case it's ever given away. First one looks interesting, thanks!

I think there are more good games under 10P than those with 50P :D

Which genres do you like?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Action-Adventure (Open World), RPG, Strategy, Simulator primarily. I don't really get phased by a genre and I try to switch them all the time to never feel bored, but these are the ones I tend to spend the most amount of time in.

Super Trench Attack (the first one) [5p]. It has good humour.

Yes, overral its a fun and casual action strategy game. The story is not good though.

I don't expect much from that type of games really. The gameplay should be fun enough.

Slay the spire (often on discount): https://store.steampowered.com/app/646570/Slay_the_Spire/ is super fun, I've been spending quite some time with my friends and the multiplayer mod
Hacknet: https://store.steampowered.com/app/365450/Hacknet/
The Rusty Lake Bundle (right now on discount): https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/3669/Rusty_Lake_Bundle/
SOMA (goes for less than 5$ on discount): https://store.steampowered.com/app/282140/SOMA/ is probably my favourite game ever. They gave it away for free on Epic some time ago and it's sad that so few people know about it

EDIT: aw fuck I read 10p but thought 10$ whoops. The recommendations still stand though

I own Slay of Spire, but didn't touch it yet. SOMA I've got as wishlist. I've seen Hacknet many times given away. I had no idea if its good or not. Thanks!

I hide most games that are 5P or less, still inter the old-school FPS giveaways like DOOM and Quake and Wolfenstein, also Meowjiro looks good. LUFTRAUSERS is great also but it hasn't been given away in nearly a year.

Edit: I also enter giveaways for Golf Gang, XIII - Classic, Townscaper, sticker, Urban Trial Freestyle, Hero of Not Our Time, Beholgar, Colorful Recolor, Nordlicht and others. I generally judge by the artwork on these cheap games, hiding the bad artwork games and checking the store page for games with good artwork

Maybe it was a bundle or something.

I own all three of them, but not the rest. Thanks!

Unloved is a great FPS, but be warned that if you want to play co-op, the community is very small.

Permalink

Is it required to play co-op to enjoy the game? I see no achievements requiring that, which is good.

Permalink

You can complete Unloved and unlock all achievements without co-op. However co-op can make the game easier, especially on the hardest difficulty setting.

These are some games I enjoy, all of them are under 10p on sale but if there is no sale then only Magicka is below 10p
Magicka
Titanfall 2
PvZ GW 2
Spec Ops: The Line
FortressCraft Evolved!

I did play Magicka way back, but not on Steam. I've never finished it though. I do think it's a fun game.

The others are great, but as you mentioned, unless they are discounted, they aren't that low.

I just realized that you were referring to points, not pounds...I assume that you want to see if you somehow filtered something interesting, so my comment is not quite right...most of my " Under 10p " games usually have one of these tags: local co-op/mp, split/shared screen so if win something I can play with someone, even online friend since a lot of them have RPT = remote play together.

Magicka is my first win here and I really enjoyed it, I finished it 2-3 times and got the second game but they changed some mechanics...

Paradox doesn't seem to consider creating a Magicka 3. I think it would be due, but maybe it wasn't that much of a success, financially.

Have you played Magicka 2? As a player coming from the first game, the new mechanics feel quite strange.... and also they removed some spells from the game or changed the way they work (area ice spam). The first one was decent, the only problems were some bugs also some broken DLCs ( from what I heard, maybe they fixed it ).

The first game feels nice solo, in team sometimes crashes...but the second seems more fun if you play with someone...I have had it for quite a long time now but never finished it...feels a bit weird alone with the new world exploration and secret items + the new graphics.

I'm sure they invested a bit in the second game but yk... it feels more like hmmm... playing pvz gw 2 than switching to Battle for Neighborville ( the newest game ) new content is out but the fun is no longer there...

Have you played Magicka 2?

Slightly. I didn't play much of it as my wife and I fell off shortly. She got easily discouraged to continue and we moved to the next one. I do plan to play it solo for whatever reason.

Spec Ops is really great but i would never replay it since i rather keep my sanity than play a good game. Also i enjoyed GW2, but nowhere near as much as OG PvZ.

FTL: Faster Than Light
Terraria
Risk of Rain

This looks a lot like Rimworld at the first glance, with of course a twist. I mean the colony sim aspect.

The only game that come instantly to my mind at 10p is Dishonored (base game, not the Definitive Edition which is 20p)
I'm really curious what type of gamers haven't played (or at least tried) it by now

Then after a bit of thinking comes Shank & Shank 2 each at 10p .. really good times

I've got Shank on my radar. Thanks for pointing that out. Although I've played Dishonored, I've not 100% yet. I still have it sitting in my open-backlog for Chaos path completion.

Dread X Collection 2 & Dread X Collection 3 are great and are bundled now so they should appear often for a while.

So many good games just at the 10p mark, but I filtered those out per your request. Under that:

Six Sides of the World
Final Exam
Machinarium
Pony Island
Ballpoint Universe
Nova-111
Cally's Caves 3
Creepy Tale
FEZ (!)
