It is has a pretty laggy startup. i really hate it. and it's a pain in the ass to use.
i don't see a reason i would use it anyway.

No lag at all for me. Are you talking about the animation that plays when you start it up or is your PC just slow? Have you even tried it with a controller?

No lag for me neither. And with a Xbox 360 Wireless controller works just fine.

startup animation but i don't like animations at all so it's not about that. i don't have an xbox 360 controller but an other so it's not compatible with most games or steam big picture mode.

My friend often plugs his TV to the PC and plays on BPM those gamepad-friendly games, like Dark Souls. We played some local co-op games using Big Picture as well. Like Magicka or Trine.

It's what it's for. I don't have that habit at all though, I prefer my console games on TV and my PC games on PC.

Yup, exactly this.

I always click it accidentaly and then make exasperated faces until Steam lets me close that annoying thingy. What a bother!

i tried it once on my htpc, but it didn't have an installed games view so it was easier to use regular steam. i might try it again sometime since it's probably changed a bit since last time.

I use it to play games on TV with a controller. I don't have a console, so this is the way to have a taste of that feeling.

Why would anyone use big screen mode with keyboard and mouse

I used it to play tf2 on a shared tv at my old college. It was incredibly fun while I still had it.

There is no difference in performance. It is made for a controller so I could understand if you have a hard time using the mouse and keyboard.

Just once for a badge.
I also once tried to photoshop a photo on tablet, for a dare.
Both experiences were similar.

i assumed it was for TV only... Feels too clumsy on pc with mouse and keyboard. Never used it, don't see the point :D

I use it all the time. Works great. The UI for typing with just a controller is phenomenal. Seems like many people who have posted so far don't even have a controller. Of course a UI made for a controller not good with mouse and keyboard come on people.

I agree, they really got the on-screen typing so well.

If you have a powerful gaming PC and a HTPC with controllers in your living room, BPM can be used for In-Home Streaming

Tried it on my PC, it sucks, badly...
If you hook your PC to your TV, then it's a completely different story. But I used it maybe 2-3 times and forget about it. I already have a PS hooked to my TV, I don't see the point to hook my PC to it also. Why would I want to play on the living room if I'm a PC gamer? You have consoles for that...

Some games are better with a controller. Why not just sit on the couch and play? Not like there is a difference between consoles and PC these days anyway. Why buy a console to play in the living room when you could just use the computer you already own?

I have a XBox360 controller for my PC already, and used it a lot (probably in most of games I play with it).
I guess is a matter of preference, I have a room just for my gaming setup and I feel really comfortable there.
I don't live alone, my gf is with me and I she needs her space too. So playing on the living room it's not always an option.
Besides, there is benefits in having a console like exclusives. I moved to PC like a year and a half ago and while I enjoy the change also I played a shit ton of GTA V, and really enjoyed playing through Ni No Kuni or The Last of Us for just giving some examples. There is ton of games with local co-op, it's easier to handle for people not used to gaming like my gf, some friends or even when my little sisters are at home.
There is good thing on both sides, and you're just harming yourself as gamer excluding other systems...

I own a WiiU and a 360. I can understand not always wanting to play in the living room but I don't understand why you said, "Why would I want to play on the living room if I'm a PC gamer." That is a pretty stupid thing to say when you own a PS and play that in the living room. When you're alone playing the PS and you decide it's time to play PC games with a controller why go to your room when you could just use the remote to change the input and pick up the 360 controller? I see that you play sleeping dogs and boarderlands 2. Those games are also on PS so I don't know why you would have to play that on a computer monitor instead of a TV. If your computer is so far away from the TV that you can't play on it with the computer in the other room why didn't you just say so.

Also why are you calling yourself a PC gamer when you play PS? Saying your a PC gamer implies that you only play that. I wouldn't even say I'm a PC gamer and I probably play less console games than you do.

You're making the assumption than everybody is more comfortable in their living rooms than playing on their desktop PC. Well, I'm not and plenty of people think the same way. It's simple as that. Per example, I will not play a FPS wth a controller, I prefer headphones and also being alone when I'm playing MM on CSGO (which is part of my routine as gamer, play a game for a while then back to CS to play some MM).
Yes, I played a lot on my PS back in the day. But I didn't buy more than 6-7 games on the last year. And barely touch it lately. If the 90% of the time you're playing on a PC, it's pretty safe to say you're a PC gamer. It's not just the system you use, it's about your philosophy as gamer too.
People will not always enjoy the same things on the same ways, you should be more opend minded to that.

"Why would I want to play on the living room if I'm a PC gamer?" You're the one who needs to be more open minded. Of course I'm not talking about playing CSGO in the living room with a controller.

Yeah, no thanks. I'm bothered by it's button being so huge and positioned where it is. It would be better to hide that shite into settings window. Users who have TV and controller connected all the time would be able to mark it as always on once and that would solve problems for them and us. But hey, we're talking about Valve, makers of great games, somewhat decent software and lousy tech support. There's no chance they are gonna fix anything soon.

Only one time just to try it. It's a useful mode if your pc is attached to the TV and you want to play on your sofa.
