Ok, so I do whitelist giveaways for generous people who give to the community more than they win. I try and do one a month or so, and keep the numbers to around 60 people. If I see that someone has quit giving, I remove them, which I think seems fair. My question though is, would you consider it a jerk move, if in order to make room for another generous giver to the community, I removed someone from the whitelist if they were still giving more than they win, but all their giveaways are either private(with 5 or 6 entries), or group exclusive GAs(to a group other than S. Gifts)?

Actually do what you want with your whitelist..even if you only whitelist assholes and regifter..nobody would cares..your money, your gifts..so do what you want..as long as its not against SG rules. :)

Yea, I just don't like being an asshole....I'm a pretty decent guy...normally and don't like to ruffle feathers if it can be avoided.

Since those ppl give more than win, don't think they would mind in first place.

Unless they boost their CV with small group giveaways which means they're not so generous imo.

That was my thought process as well, cv boosting. especially when all the GAs have 6 entries, and you need 5 to count toward your CV. Though I tend to be distrustful of people. That's my downfall.

The way I see it, giving is giving. It's not like there are many groups out there where everyone knows everyone. Some people prefer not to give things to the entire community, simply because there will always be people who take without giving.

You're the one giving something for nothing, so pretty much nothing you do could be considered a "jerk move".

TIL: Apparently random trading stuff (aka join "gift exchange" groups, with won/gifted ratio etc...) means being generous

ugh, i'm such an idiot...I had to google TIL, and then when I saw what it was, i kicked myself, cause I knew it, but apparently forgot it....i guess?

Like they said, your whitelist, your rules.

Though I will say, many people do private giveaways just for the forums. 90%+ of my private giveaways are. lol

Oh yea, im fine with those...I do a fair number of those too, but if all the private giveaways have around 6 or so entries, it's obvious it's not forum GAs, and just doesn't seem(at least to me) to be contributing to the community.

It also depends on how much you differentiate the puzzles from the forums in general.

Forum GA-s will certainly have more than a fistful of entries. Puzzles can suck, when people decide they are too hard and do not even try solving.

And some people would blacklist Elbows for that - as weird as that is.
To each their own. There are no defined rules set in stone, it's all preference.

I do not see the trouble. You have your rules for your whitelist. If that rule doesn't apply anymore for someone you may remove them. It would be a jerk move to put them on your blacklist.

You can also remove someone from your whitelist at the Moment they win one of your whitelist ga. And you can give another one a fair Chance. But that's all in your power

not to sound rude, but why do you need "our" approval?
do what you feel is right.
i don't do lists. cause i don't think they are fair.

Oh, I don't "Need" your approval. I think you misunderstood. I asked for a general consensus from the community, not to seek approval, but to find out if the majority thought it was a dick move. Just like if someone asks if they should report someone who tries to send a region locked game, or if they should just mark it as "undelivered", isn't seeking approval to report, they simply want other peoples opinions on the matter, because basing your decisions on all available ideas and thoughts in my opinion is a basic part of the decision making process. Only a fool would make a a decision without seeking council.

So, I came to the community, since my whitelist is mainly for people who contribute to the community. At the end of the day, i'll decide what to do on my own, but taking into account points and ideas expressed here, like what verveeri suggested above.

Also, no need to clarify, I didn't take the question as rude, just a simple and honest question.

As for the fairness of lists, the majority of my GAs are public, or invite (with the URL posted in the forums...I don't even do puzzles, so I believe that it all balances out in the end.

It's your whitelist, you do what you want with it. I don't see what the problem is with that.

Absolutely not a jerk move. Your whitelist is yours to do with as you please - you don't have an obligation to keey anyone on there.

Your list your rules...

I think that anyone who is in a whitelist should be thankful for that and there is no reason to have a grudge if they then return at the previous state of not-whitelisted.

Keeping the whitelist a small one makes sense;
I have seen whitelist giveaways with thousands of entries, for games that would have way less entries if they are created with no restriction... this makes no sense to me...

Your list, your rules. I don't even use any of them,i just giveaway things and problem solved, but when it comes to breaking rules via giveaways, well then i start using blacklists. Thank god no one if winners wans't that bad.

Not a jerk move, actually I don't like lvl6-7 contributors who only make group giveaways with "few" entries on them and the only public stuff they gave away (if they did) is 1-2 bundle games years ago. They are not that different from the so called "leech" that wins 30-50 games without sending anything back, maybe even worse, a level 0 usually can get just bundle games.
