Hi y'all,

I wanted to ask you ppl if you know any Shooter-RPG games or First-Person RPG games. A MMORPG would also do it. I'm just tired of all the CENSORED in CoD and BF 3. Please look at the list below before you comment!

Games I know/played:

-All the Elder Scrolls games (Played all that games 2348181x times)

-Mass Effect 1,2,3 (Played ME2 and 3 2149184x times)

-World of Warcraft (I dont like the gameplay at all XD)

-Metin2 (Extremely boring game)

-Everquest 2 (Cool game but i dont wanna pay monthly)

-Fallout 3 and New Vegas

-Vampire the Masquerade (i dont like this game :D)

-Borderlands (VERY good game but after playing it 92859x times I got bored :D)

-Risen 1+2

-Gothic 1,2,3 and Arcania (Gothic 2 the best game ever -)

-DayZ (the continously patching annoyed me...)

-Payday The Heist (kinda lame)

-BioShock (1+2)

I would be happy if you could help me ,finding new games!

btw.: Sry for my english :D

Alpha Protocol, from a gameplay perspective especially the shooting mechanics are somewhat weird, but the non-linear story and conversations are amazing. More an RPG than a Shooter but according to your list your more into RPG :)

I was talking about the old one since he never said it needed to be a new game, then I searched for it and got to know it is still around as F2P

1 decade ago

Yeah the F2P is basically the same game. I enjoy playing it every once and a while.

I'll gladly argue that point. T3Fun has completely ruined the game for me, with their needless alteration of NPCs, obnoxious cash-shop pressure, and an overabundance of gold-spammers.

I mean, really. They took one of the NPCs who spoke only in Shatnerisms -- named "Tiberius", no less -- and moved all his dialogue to a random NPC. They gave NPCs weird hair colors (like purple) for no reason at all.

Just. No.

you could get torchlight 2 its an action rpg, the outlander class can use guns, bows and cannons etc. but even still its not that shooter-like compared to something like borderlands.

Go for some abandonware: chase down a copy of System Shock 2. (I'd also recommend SS 1, but that game is really showing its age and you might not like the weird control scheme.)

oh man, SS is crazyyyyy. That game was awesome :D

Guild Wars 2 is an amazing MMO (nothing like WoW)

Also, since you liked Borderlands, next week Borderlands 2 gets released, and it is even MORE amazing than the first one

Alpha Protocol is fucking great, it's not me who owns the game, it's this game who owns me. Also, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. trilogy is good, but buggy as if coded by a monkey.

STALKER. Definitely STALKER.

I recommend installing some mods before playing, don't even bother with vanilla. There are mods that aim to do nothing but fix bugs and add better textures/effects/etc without changing the core gameplay, but the topic of modding STALKER can get heated pretty fast, so I'll let you do your own research.

All you need to do is install the "STALKER Complete 2009", it is fantastic. I am currently playing through it now. It cant be easier to install as well, install STALKER, run the game, exit, run complete 2009 exe and you're done.

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah, the Complete mods for all three games are what I used in place of vanilla for a first run. Some people, however, complain that they make the games too easy.

If you like difficult games get Datastor Modpack. He is actively developing it more than 4 years and still improving it. It makes game playable (fix almost all bugs and shit + makes game real (i am talking about difficulty) so you won't get best rifle after 1 hour playing and then be bored about the loot rest of the game, adds plenty of guns and items (quality work, all balanced and tweaked) etc.. It just the best.

PS: If you decide for this mode you have to just remove one folder - gamedata/config/text/cze - otherwise the game would be in czech language - after removing the folder all will be fine ;)

Thank you very much. I'll defenitely check that game out.

Deus Ex (original or Human Revolution), S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, Metro 2033, Borderlands 2 (out later this month).

I agree with this guy. Just play all of these games, except Metro 2033 (which is a great game but is not an RPG at all.)

Also, add Borderlands 1 and System Shock 1 and 2.

As a few have already mentioned, Alpha Protocol. The game got ripped apart by people, and is not flawless by any stretch of the imagination, but I genuinely LOVE the game. It's an excellent experience.

And if you have a big HD/decent comp, are willing to possibly fiddle with some things (like having to manually create a cache folder for a texture cashe, how they missed that is beyond me.....) and want a shooter with mild RPG elements (and racing), I'd suggest RAGE. Possible headaches involved in getting it to work right, install is 18-21 gigs or so, but the game is quite good. And the racing is actually fun.

Fall Earth is a F2P MMO on Steam. Also I agree with Alpha Protocol, and thew S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series. Wizardry series is in the 1st person view, but plays a little different. If you are willing to give that a try you might want to check out Legend of Grimrock. Then again you have Serious Sam: Random Encounters for a shooter/rpg.... never said it was 1st person though.

Dark Messiah of Might & Magic is surprisingly awesome. Might want to check that out. Other than that, I can only second System Shock 2. The first one is a bit infuriating with its difficult controls, but it's still a great game.
