Looks interesting, and an interesting free to play game is always good!
Maybe you should change the FREE tag in the title for free to play though - free is generally used for promos and limited offers when one can get a buy-to-play game for free, it will most likely confuse some people.

Thank you for being willing to do that. :)

Your current formatting is fine, and most everyone'll understand it now without being confused as to your intent.

It is however worth noting that the most appropriate term for a permanently free game would be "Freeware", though "Free-to-Play" is technically correct as well. However, as Free-To-Play (along with its Microtransaction-specific variant, "Freemium") and Pay-To-Play are nearly always used to specifically refer to the payment options available for online games, your intent could still be misconstrued. Of course, the real aim is not confusing people into thinking it's a limited time promotion, and you've successfully done that with your current change.

Sorry if that's hard to translate. :/
In short, "Free to Play" is fine, but "Freeware" is more accurate. :)

That's ... · Because "KADOKAWA" is involved, I'm a bit worried that "What about the future?"
Anyway, I hope you enjoy it. :)

Because "KADOKAWA" is involved

Sorry, I'm not familiar.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it. :)

Unfortunately, I've enough RPGMaker games queued up to play that, given my interest primarily being in narrative-heavy games, I'll likely not get around to trying this one out.

I have a bunch of RPGMaker games piled up as well, but I will admit that this game has piqued my interest enough that I will be giving it a shot on my next day off.:)

If you want, I can let you know if it's any good, Sooth! ^_^

Yeah, but "Free to play" is usually a term used for games which while being free to play have some other costs to them (microtransactions). While "Free" is a term used for games that are completely free with no payable extras.

Even Steam officially added that as a definition of F2P games in their documentation.

That's why Steam has both "Free to Play" and "Free" tags for games, to make distinction between games with microtransactions and premium models and games that are completely free. Yume Nikki is currently wrongly tagged as F2P on Steam though.

Never really looked into Steam's system, I was talking about tags used on SG forums :)

It's terminology used outside of Steam as well; albeit outside of steam the "free" games are more commonly tagged "freeware". So I think SG users should keep that in mind.

We could use "Currently Free" or "Now Free" instead for games that were P2B before but have temporarily or permanently changed their model.

Oh wow what a surprise, I thought the developer dissapeared though? I wonder if the new game will be a sequel, I hope it will not explain anything about the first game. The best part of Yume Nikki is trying to make sense of anything and speculating on what the story may be, any explaintion would ruin it. I wonder if more old RPGMaker games would come to Steam, like Ib or The Witch's House. If they do I definitely will play them, they are such good games.

For those interested, this game is basically plotless; you just walk around exploring the bizarre dream worlds and interacting with some interesting individuals. There is little to no dialogue and no coherent story, but it has a very unique feeling. I don't know how to describe it, but if you like exploring games I think you should try this game at least once. There is a pretty dedicated fanbase that you should check out after playing, so many theories and pretty fanarts.

Hey nice! I've been wanting to try this one after Dan Salvato (Doki Doki) mentioned it in his Reddit AMA as one of his favorite games and a bit of an inspiration for his project, if I recall correctly.

Holyyyy that countdown makes me so excited. I'm surprised to see Yume Nikki on steam, but I guess all these other RPG maker horror games have been added on there lately. And unlike those, this one's still free!
This is honestly one of the most defining horror game experiences for me. Looks like its time to replay it!

it was a fairly well known RPGMaker game back in the day, especially in Japan/other asian countries, and had its fair share of influence on other games(i.e., LISA, doki doki)

it has gotten a release on steam over a decade after its initial release; i suppose OP wanted to let people know that it exists/was released on Steam
