i Just got my licences plate for my new(for better of a lack of terms) 96 Ford bronco. i was pretty excited until i parked in the city and got a boot. apparently the previous owner of the plate had about $500 in parking fees, and did not pay them. i tried to explain and show prof that i just got the plate, but they just called a tow truck instead and left me walking. i called the licensing place and they told me that they didn't know and that they would replace the plate. the problem now is i have to go to the impound lot and waste my Saturday paying $130 to release my car. i hate the PPA.

I think it's not only an issue with PPA, but also the licensing people, who are at least supposed to know what they are giving to the people.

its true, they should have a system to check these things before they give them away.

...You still have to pay the fee to get it released, even though it's their error? Wow, that sucks.

i dont think i can, for the most part the law say i have to pa for the services rendered. and i am only paying for the impound, not the tickets. so what im going to do is see what my bill is for two night in impound. if its more than 200, im calling the dealership and telling them they can pick it up. then all i have to pay is $35 to them, pulse $85 for the tow.

I live right outside of Philadelphia and I can attest to the atrocities that friends of mine have suffered due to the PPA.

How do you even have someone elses plate in Pennsylvania???? Anytime I've bought a used car...the only way you can transfer plates is if you are family. Was this a family member with outstanding tickets?????
