However, technically installing it won't do any harm - you would have to launch it, and you would have to not have effective malware protection running on your PC. I had it installed already, but haven't tried to play it.

I would hazard the guess that Valve has no mechanism in place to prevent a user from downloading and running software they have regularly purchased. Pretty much the same thing happens when a game is pulled from Steam: existing owners retain access to it.
Since the game has been suspended from sale, not removed, it is possible that at Valve they aren't even sure that there is a problem in the first place, and the suspension from sale is precautionary.

Redeemed my key today and was going to install and play it, however my friend convinced me to play The Secret World instead. I'm damn glad I didn't hit that play button.
Edit: The game "Vapour" kept identifying as a trojan every time I got past the first loading screen. I eventually said f**k it and moved on to another game from that bundle. Still can't play it due to it being recognized as a trojan.

Again people jumping the gun, because 1 person (who knows what else he installed and had on his pc that resulted in his problems) had a problem and for all we know it being some false positive thing, and getting a game reported and character killed.

Not claiming it might not be filled with crap, but let's not be so quick to judge it either. If it was a big AAA game then everyone would just say oh it's a false positive, i am sure it's fine, but when it's indie, it's probably shady.

I was very upset that Uriel's Chasm wasn't detected as malware. And then they came out with the second version and my PC caught fire! I thought I heard Norton and MBAM screaming for help but I ran away. The smell of brimstone still lingers to this day.

DO NOT INSTALL THIS GAME RIGHT NOW. Redeem the key, sure, but don't install and open it.
