AAA - Horizon Zero Dawn (https://imgur.com/a/IR1La - Some pics I took mostly in photo mode before the camera update that lets you change facial expressions). Should also note this is PS4 graphics, since it's an exclusive. On PC, it would probably be so much more beautiful...

I played on the regular PS4 right when it came out and was astounded. It's also pretty clean in terms of not being super buggy, which I always appreciate. I rarely buy games on immediate release, but this time I did and didn't regret it at all!

I'm a simple man, pixel art makes me go all emotional. Chrono Trigger!

Yeah, Chrono Trigger had some nice pixel art!
I don't get the draw of games that have pixel art that's intentionally meant to look super pixelated, like this, but the detailed pixel art of games like Chrono Trigger, or Metal Slug, can be amazing.

Chrono Trigger ftw!!! I haven't played the rerelease, but it was one of my favorite games growing up on the SNES!

Mass Effect Andromeda. The black sheep of the ME series, yet still a gorgeous game and surprisingly enjoyable now, after several patches were applied. At launch, it was nothing short of a hot mess. I definitely need play it some more, once I'll upgrade my GPU to support 4K@60fps in this title. Even maxed out at only 2K res, it looks amazing. Below is a link to my screenshot showcase for ME Andromeda.

Also definitely make sure to grab the Cinematic Realism mod from NexusMods, it makes the game look incredible. Say what you want about the animations, but I spend hours on Havarl just staring at the scenery. (Especially during Jaal's sidequest. Wow.)

The better the graphics are—past a point which changes over time—the worse the gameplay will typically be. Now, some games with great graphics have great gameplay. This question was about graphics, not gameplay, though, and what constitutes "great" is subjective.

Games with great graphics (most of which have great gameplay also), including games of different types with graphics that are superb for the function they perform in the game. That means some of these games are games of different styles. The hardware running the games might also play a part in how good they look (e.g. my COD:WW2 might not look as good as your COD:WW2):

  • Dragon's Lair
  • Tempest 4000
  • Space Giraffe
  • Space Pirates and Zombies
  • Space Pirates and Zombies 2
  • Black Ice
  • 0RBITALIS
  • TOXIKK
  • The Forest
  • Star Control II
  • Ballblazer
  • Rescue on Fractalus
  • Pinball FX3

With you 100% on Everspace. I just started playing it recently, and I think I've spent nearly as much time, if not more, just marvelling at the environments and taking screenshots as I have actually playing the game. Space is GORGEOUS.

I dunno, you've got a lot of incredible shots as well. Not surprising, since this game is teeming with so many beautiful locales.
