You should take some action, and play games. Instead of faking you're a railgun!

okay but like I tried to play yomawari before finding out that it has a weird save system where you have to go to a house and find a desk and hit save before it saves (in a kinda cool very old fashioned kind of way) (also saves at the end of chapters)
-BUT that means I played through the first 40min-hour of the game 2 times already without saving so when I try again I'll be back at the start...

and I'm really busy and don't have the time to sit down for multiple hours and play like I used to

pat pat

If you'd ever play in Ghost of a Tale - you can save only in hiding spots. Which can be confusing at the beginning.

You can quicksave the game at shrines by paying 1 coin. There are a lot of them scattered through the map.

We need ability to install games into brains and playing during sleep... Like cats I think. They sleep most of day for a reason 😹

At some point I want to make a spreadsheet with all of the games I own that would take less than five hours, but that would take time. I never have time, but I find a lot of time by procrastinating ¯\(ツ)/¯

My stress levels and quality of life might be diminishing but at least my backlog sees some action

I like the idea of categorizing all my shorter games so I have something to hit sometime when I only have a hour or so free

It's not 100% accurate, especially with lesser known games and if you care about getting all achievements, but howlongtobeat can sort games a lot of games by time to beat and be really helpful if you didn't know about that.

yeah I know about this and several similar.
problem is most of them include all the games I've already played...was thinking of actually going through and categorizing all the unplayed and unfinished games by time and putting it on BLAEO or something

You take the blue pill, the story ends, you awake in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.
__
Listening to that, I drank both medicines at once.
Even if I have a bug, it is my reality.
The game list and the Internet are reality.

There was no problem because the original reality was also buggy.
It is trivial compared to what you want to do to have a relationship with reality.
Let's throw it into the trash can.
__
Well, it is a joke.
You need to keep sleeping hours.
Investment to buy time is necessary.
It is also good to have it in the "game library" until time is available.
However, if you want "time now" do not forget "investing in time".

Hmm. Is it just me who is now thinking of setting up the "clone" option?

Definitely getting a stunt double for work-related matters.

I used to do the same! But it's more effective to not have job - you can play for much longer!

You can always win them here :D Also lets face it - our backlog is big enough to play games for the rest of our lives without buying new ones :)

There are games playable in short bursts. Like Risk of Rain or Binding of Isaac.

Sometimes I think I'd like to start a new Warhammer 40k army but then I think 'I don't have time to assemble and paint 100 tiny miniatures before I even start playing...'

I thought assembling and painting miniatures was the game?

I haven't partaken myself, but I had a friend that played, and from watching him I'm pretty sure the next step after you finish painting your figures is to go out and buy more figures to assemble and paint.

There are a lot of of very talented miniature painters that are out of my league. I'm at the higher end of tabletop standard. I try and keep it to one hour per mini on average and just use a lot of tricks I've picked up over the years.

Well, I think your minis look awesome! :)

Have you painted any others, or just the Orks?

Permalink

I have about a third of my orks painted to a standard that I would share on the internet. Some are unpainted, some are older models that I want to strip and repaint.

I have a Thousand Sons army that I'm in the process of converting and painting. That has escalated into a bigger project than I intended with a separate Alpha Legion detachment.

I also have an older Sisters of Battle army that needs to be stripped and repainted to a decent standard. And I really wanted to start an Adeptus Mechanicus army recently and struggled to stop myself given all the unpainted stuff I still need to sort out...

I often find time to play games. But finding the mood and concentration to do so, now that's a different matter.
I also prefer it when the game adjusts to my time and not the other way around (like some online games, where you have to check x times per day or even set the clock to act and react).
