Its really a lot shorter than I would have thought, and its not very fun without setting the difficulty on the highest setting. But the atmosphere is great.

Banner Saga? That's just like Candy Crush Saga, right?

Princess maker 2.
Long live the queen is sort of a milder remake of Princess maker. Milder in a way that Princess maker offers much more variability and it has like 90 possible endings. It's not on steam unfortunately and only Princess Maker 2 was ever officially translated to english.
You can also try King of dragon pass, that one can be bought on gog.com.

The second princess maker is awesome but it's also the only one i've played from the series because it's the only one that's been translated to english as far as I know. Maybe someone already made some decent translations of the other princess maker titles but Princess Maker 2 is the only one I know of that's in english. I know that there were some work in progress translations of some of the titles, but I really don't know if they're already finished or at least partially working.
However if you can speak japanese, chinese or korean then you won't have any trouble with all the other titles :).

You may wanna check out Winter Wolves games such as "Always remember me" and "Heileen". They focus a lot on romancing and has different endings and developments depending on your options.
"Magical Diary", done by the same creator as "Long Live the Queen", has many different ending and options depending on how you react. I personally didn't like the game myself because the abusive relationships towards women.
The Telltales "The Walking Dead" also allows you making some options which affects some of he plot, though the majority of the story is scripted towards the same goal. Still, it allows some nice character development. (at least season 1) Same goes for "The wolf among us." Telltale games are very story rich.
If you want games with absolutely no story, but totally random, then I'd say "QuestRun". You never know what upgrades you'll get along the way, so you have quite different runs, though monsters and bosses are the same. There are some random events where you can choose what happens to your team. Such as a thief stealing all your items, or a shrine refilling all their health. "The Binding of Isaac" has some story to it, but I find it mostly fascinating for always having randomized monsters and bosses, making each run unique. "Angvik" has no story, but is always random with their upgrades. Monsters and bosses remain the same though.
Jorji is the best <3

I got Long Live the Queen 2 days ago and I'm loving it! xD
Any other games similar to this?
I know FTL isn't exactly the same theme, but that's not what I'm looking for. I'm looking for rich stories, LOT's of options, maybe random events like FTL? etc...
Papers Please is also another example, which I loved.
Any suggestions? Preferably on Steam. If not, that's fine too.
