Heya guys and girls,

I'm a beginning coder and I created a tool (similar to others) that helps users find the Steam ID of an account. If you don't know what a Steam ID is, basically it's a combination of numbers and letters that makes a unique combination associated with each Steam account. Admins use it to give special access to players (like admin, vip, donator etc) or ban players.

I would really love to get some feedback on my Steam ID converter. I know that there are other similar tools out there but I'm planning to implement many more features in the future - all your suggestions are welcome!

Thanks :) http://steamid.co

It would be great to have it as some kind of add-on/script so that you can run it in your browser.

That's not a bad idea! I'll see if I can get that done.

I'm currently working on a blog and some more Steamrep features (once I got the permission).

it handles disabled javascript very poorly. if you're going to require javascript, it's a good idea to throw in a noscript tag to tell people they'll need to enable it.

it looks really good though, much better than most sites that use steam data. did you make the images yourself?

i'm curious what else you plan to add. i assume since you link to steamrep you know steamrep already provides all this information (so does sapi and probably a bunch of other sites). the enhanced steam browser addon adds steamrep and sapi links (among others) to every steamcommunity.com profile page.

Thanks for the tips, I will update the site with a noscript tag. The images (the background image) is inspired by steam's new profile layout (http://cdn.steamcommunity.com/public/images/profile/profile_header_bg_texture.jpg). All other images are made by myself.

I worked on a blog today, it's live now (http://steamid.co/blog/) where you can also see things I'm planning to add in the future. Basically now it's just a converter but I'm already working on a huge update (maybe it'll be a seperated site), with a whole new non-existing concept.
