Calling out : Removed

huh?? you can call out a developer for making a game. the rule is "if you have an issue with someone", meaning don't point others flaws out, but developing is not a flaw. ^^

it's no prob.. it's certainly better to be safe then sorry. ^^

but yea, as long as you aren't trying to negatively impact a person in any way, it's not really used as a callout rule. xD

If you have an issue with another user, submit a ticket with a user report, rather than calling them out within the community or on the forum.

Calling out:

  • Is intended to protect SG users, and doesn't extend outside of SG's membership or matters directly relevant to them
  • Only relates to elements which may be considered to express or encourage negativity toward the individual ( It's not calling out to, say, note that a user is from Switzerland (though if they didn't openly indicate that anywhere, it may be a violation of privacy guidelines). )
  • Where no negativity is directly indicated toward another user, generally only relates to elements which cannot easily be independently confirmed (thus, for example, not preventing you from referencing a detail someone has on their Steam profile)
  • Does not protect public figures (within their capacity as public figures) even if they are SG users (Thus, a developer can't simply make an account here to avoid criticisms being posted against them- else DigiHom's long-standing SG account woulda had much more impact on the site. :P)
  • Does not protect impersonators (as they are not actually the user in question) [My clarification on that: >>]

Let's suppose he wrote his referral in that monthly page link. So he removed it to avoid other people calling him out. Now that makes sense! :D
