That John McClane had 401 K as pension, which is the same amount as Max Payne earned as private bodyguard as said in the game!

In one of the movies, I think the fourth film.

A lot of public service jobs get good pensions, depending which country of course.

I just saw Die Hard 4.0 and the "bad guy" offered John to kill farrel in exchange to lose all of his debts and a lot of money for his 2 children. A bit before that they were browsing his file, which showed that he had 401 K as pension.

Private contractors will always pay a shit load more than a public service job. Why? Because they pick you instead of you picking them.

I know, but in the game Max Payne said "blood-stained four-O-one kay" so I immediately thought of that after seeing that movie :)

A 401k is a retirement plan, and used to be a very common thing. It's not notable. My grandfather live sin New York and has a 401k, so this would also be a reference to my grandfather, who definitely has nothing to do with the Max Payne series.

As Jonex suggested, they likely referenced John McClane from the Die Hard movies. It probably has nothing to do with the 401k you noticed.
