4. High School of the Dead (weird but soooo funny, especially the english dub)
5. Naruto Shippuden (fucking too many fillers and flashbacks, but you can skip them)

I'm going to go with classics Neon Genesis Evangelion, Cowboy Beebop, FullMetal alchemist: Brotherhood, Elfen lied, Soul Eater etc.

Kill La Kill and Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann have already been mentioned I think but those two are very fun to watch. I don't think anybody's said Mushibugyou yet, it was all right.
Ore no Nounai Sentakushi ga, Gakuen Love Comedy wo Zenryoku de Jama Shiteiru is probably the most random thing with the longest name I have seen.

Kill la Kill. 'tis the anime of the season.

If you don't mind a "little" blood if the story is good, then I recommend Elfen Lied. It's a hit or miss; a lot people love it, a lot people hate it. Very few are unconcerned about it.

Apart from that, Fullmetal Alchemist : Brotherhood, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Porco Rosso (it's a film by Miyazaki).

If you like harem+"fanservice" anime: Rosario + Vampire. ;)
