I don't know much about eBay, but I'll offer what I think.
Ships from Hong Kong, so it's a chinese knockoff. The seller is rated well so you'll at least get the thing, and it should work. For how long, I have no clue.
I would personally do this: Real one
As I know I'd get a decent quality item.

A 360 controller is perfect and cheap for PC gaming so you might go with that one indeed. If by any chance you own a PS3, I use my DualShock 3 pad on PC with some drivers which make it work perfectly with any game, usually emulating the 360 controller.

^This. If it doesn't have the Xbox logo (the X) on the large center button, then it's not an officially sanctioned 360 controller, and I'd stay clear.
I have the Razer Sabertooth, but it's very pricey. My friend recently picked up the PDP Afterglow to co-op with me on PC because it was on sale at Walmart: http://www.walmart.com/ip/PDP-Afterglow-Controller-Blue-Xbox-360-Xbox-360/29700231
Though it shows out of stock online, see if a local store has it and then pull it up online and ask them to honor the price. The store by me did without much issue. Even though it's a third-party controller, as you can see, it has the X so it's an official one.

According to reviews These are pretty good (especially for racing games) and d-pad is better than stock 360 controller:
Thrustmaster GPX LightBack Ferrari F1 Edition $25
Thrustmaster GPX LightBack Edition $25
I bought the Ferrari edition (arrives tomorrow yay).

You'd be better off getting the official controller at that price, as that's what it's currently discounted at on Amazon:

Cheapest one controller to buy from Xbox 360 is this one I have "Thrustmaster GP Xid" is actually not worse than the Original from Microsoft, but it doesn't support vibration(there are other versions of it that support it), you need to apply more force to fully press triggers(but they work even if pressing a little), the DPad is actually better, and the weight is more light, I compared it to the original from Microsoft Xbox 360 that my friend has.
So the one you are looking is just a Chinese copy of the Original, it doesn't even have Xbox logo if you see, because of copyright.
If you want to buy a controller, buy from a trusted brand at least, Microsoft, Logitech, Thrustmaster, Razer, etc.

I don't really care about wired or not. I just thought that wired would be cheaper.
And yeah, an original is a bit too expensive... I won't be using it myself, but my brother will play with me from time to time.

Hum the page is blocked for me, i can't see which controller it is.
Anyway, i had a Thrustmaster some years ago with lot of buttons.
I liked it, good quality and quite cheap.
Then i broke it and since, i am offering a second life to my PS2 controllers with an adaptor for PC.

If he already owns a DS3/DS4, then sure, he should just go with that, but anyone who doesn't console-game and is just looking for a controller for PC use is better off going with a 360 controller because it's the de facto standard for most PC games.

Works perfectly for me now. Just like using an Xbox controller once you get it working. Played Portal 2, Guacamelee, Castle Crashers etc. I used what I had and it works good for me :) I wouldn't recommend unless you already own one for a PS3. Also I already talked to jbond on steam so he probably will get the Logitech gamepad.

I don't own any console. I don't know anything about console related stuff, so that's why I'm asking here. Basically, I don't care about the "quality" of the controller, if it'll last. for a year or two.

i have used generic USB pads my whole life, and most of them did their job perfectly. especially with the x360ce thing.
since those are supposed to be Xbox compatible, you won't need any other (probably) application to use the pad with PC games.
if it's cheap enough, go for it.

I'm a bit confused...
Most of the rock candy controllers I found on Ebay are very very cheap... Are these genuine?
Comment has been collapsed.
Just ordered one last week. I really don't like the off name brand your looking at. Spend the bit extra, and have one that will last longer. MHO.

That really looks like a decent one, thank you! I'll seriously consider it.

lol, 18$ for that controller, it cost like almost twice here (edit: sorry, it literally cost twice here). This one is a good controller yes, and the Microsoft one is very cheap too, here is 1/3 more expensive, or even more depending where buying. I wish in Spain we had this kind of deals.

your better off just search ebay for a playstation 1/2 to pc controller converter . cost me like 3 bucks, and my PlayStation 2 and ps1 controllers now work on my computer
search "playstation 2 controller to pc"
my first 2 choices from search result are what i own and you can plug 2 controllers into them so 2 player games

If you're not going to get an official 360 or XOne pad then you should always at least make sure to pick one from the other big names out there like Logitech or Razer or Thrustmaster. This is because game compatibility these days is often limited purely to official XOne or 360 pads. Now the other big names out there are at least supported by X360CE which emulates having a 360 pad on others. But for all the others that aren't supported by X360CE you're left completely out of luck if the game doesn't detect the pad to begin with or incorrectly detects it and/or some of it's buttons or sticks. (In a game like Mini Ninjas just emulating a 360 pad wasn't even enough, I actually had to find my Logitech Rumblepad 2's name in the registry and had to alter it to that of a proper 360 pad for the game to detect it).
So no, in my opinion getting a knock-off like that, or even just a pad that isn't widely known, is never a good option.
This is one case where it pays heavily to stick to official stuff because it's the only way you're guaranteed compatibility otherwise you have to rely on workarounds which may or may not cater to whatever you've cheaped out on.

Well I've been around the official forums and there are also plenty of people that can't get their pads to work and since none of the devs have such a pad it's eternally unsupported. You just happen to be one of the lucky ones, or you don't have some unique bluetooth controller meant for tablets or smartphones like they often have.
Comment has been collapsed.
but those pads probably have their own drivers, using the generic gamepad driver that comes with windows sill make the pad work with x360ce... i'm not sure on that one, but both pads i have uses a generic driver. no force feedback, but still i can use them with x360ce
Comment has been collapsed.
No idea on that either but I guess it makes sense. However there are still cases like Mini Ninjas where not even X360CE can help you past altering your own registry data (it's fairly safe to export the original key and create the fake 360 key and export it as well (for easy switching back and forth) though I guess).
The one and only way to be guaranteed no headache ever is to have an official pad.

I actually prefer not having the sticks next to each other cuz that often felt too samey for me and I'd sometimes try to perform an action with the wrong stick. And for some reason I also tended to overextend moves on the DS2 much more often, though I guess that might have been due to my young age at the time. The 360 pad also sits, or at least sat (dunno how ones after the DS2 compare) much more comfortably in the hand rather than presenting me with hard edges I had to squeeze into my grip. So I prefer MSs approach.
Super excited about the Steam controller though.

Even if the seller (like in my link for example) states that it'll work on a PC?
Comment has been collapsed.
It's not about working on PC, it's about being detected by the game and working in it. Ever since MS forced this 360 pad monopoly there has been a difference between a pad working on the PC and a pad actually working flawlessly in every game. My Rumblepad 2 also worked on the PC...but without X360CE it worked with less and less games.
Comment has been collapsed.
And yeah, also? I wouldn't be using the gamepad myself. Only on two players split screen games with my brother.
Basically, I'm planning on playing Grid 2, mostly.
Would that game work okay with a knock-off gamepad?
Comment has been collapsed.
Possibly, since GRID2 also still features general DInput and XInput support as well as a couple of other controllers and wheels rather than the usual 360 controller exclusivity.
BLUR however would be a massive pain and require some trial and error with manual X360CE ini editing (plus under certain circumstances if the input used for the other player is the keyboard the pad will just get disabled/assigned to the keyboard player as well and a restart will be required. And the same probably goes for the two Sonic racing games (although after the manual ini edit this first game presented less trouble than Blur and I never got around to trying to mess with the second one.
Also one person on controller and one on keyboard is much less fair than it sounds because the keyboard player loses analog control and thus precise control. (a keyboard key can only be on or off, not 60% or 20% or any other percentage like analog sticks and triggers on a controller can)

i use my ps3 controller on my pc with an xbox emulator driver. so i can play every game whitch is compytible to xbox pad. and i can play with ps3 controle settings. and you can use more as one pad at same time. ah and you can use it with BT or usb. i use only usb couse i dont need to reload my pad.

But the thing is, I don't have any controller at all. :P

I use a wired usb blue Rock Candy xbox controller that I bought from Walmart. It is hands down the next best thing to an actual microsoft official xbox 360 controller. I've bought the "AfterGlow" and a bunch of different generic ones from China via amazon. All of them have broke or got really bad stick drift. The Rock Candy controller I have NEVER had any kind of problem with for the last year. All the other brands were broken in some manner within 2 months

I once bought one that, if it's not that one, looked exactly like that. It was definitely made of cheap plastic, had an issue in a few games where the left analog stick was permanently stuck to the left, and the buttons were more "clicky" than they should have been. Other than that I didn't have any problems, and they're probably worth about the asking price if you literally don't have $40 to spend. Amazon has the real thing for $25 right now though, and I'd recommend that over the knockoff.

Buy an official wired XBOX 360 controller, everybody recommended me getting one and they were right. It's da shit. (also looks and feels really really durable)

i personally bought Speedlink XEOX Pro Analog which does both Direct Input and XInput. according to reviews it's even nicer to hold in hands, and it is nice, it has a nice rubber cover and is rather precise.
however it is cheaper than MS one only in my country, it seems. original one will be decent no matter what.

Logitech F510 is the best CORDED PC gamepad i guess. Same as F310, but with force feedback. I have mine for 2+ years. It's really indestructible. Also it have cool feature - u can choose input type: Direct Input (Old games, emulators etc) or X-Input (xbox style, all modern games).

i wouldnt buy anything from Banggood, which is the seller u just linked on ebay. they are in china and take WEEKS if not a month or more to ship items
personally i buy 360 gamepads only cause pretty much all PC games work with them and a lot of other gamepads even logitech dont work with all games. i buy from newegg as they very poften have sales on thee controllers. ive bought a few there from 25-35$ at different times. its a little more money than it looks like ytou are trying to spend but it is worth it as the quality is much higher and it will work with all games. the last thing you want is a cheaper gamepad that ends up not working in all your games or just poops out in 1 year or less.

I'm planning on purchasing a controller to play split screen multiplayer with my brother.
Now, I don't know ANYTHING about controllers. I found one on Ebay which looks decent and is cheap enough to afford.
This is, so far, the best/cheapest one I found.
Is it a good buy? Is the quality decent, as in, it'll last a while? Anything else I should know?
Thanks. :)
[EDIT] Thanks to Hillary Clinton, I'm now seriously considering this. Looks good?
