Thanks.

Wishlist + DLC discounted too + Steam wallet discount for cards sold since Summer Sale = +1 to library.

Just saw on the Space exploration sale and had to buy it. I was afraid that Bethesda made an error since they don't give more than 50% discount on their more recent titles anymore (makes one think that Prey probably didn't sell well enough, which is a shame). Oh well, Cyberpunk pre-order will wait a little longer.

I don't think I can resist, even though I've already finished it on the PS4.

I know a deal when I see it.

I'm tempted to purchase the base game. But sci-fi settings is not my forte. Buuut... being able to get alien powers, that seems pretty cool. :3
That being said, between this and... say Fanatical had again the Metro Redux bundle as a Star Deal (i.e. super cheap, it was once for sale at 5.60$ CAD, dunno why I didn't get it back then), I'd go for Metro.

I'm glad I still have a couple days to think about it. Not sure about Prey. Will have to check gameplay videos. :o/

Tough choice, both are great :)
Prey kind of gave me the same feeling Bioshock did...Roaming around a space station instead of an underwater complex, never knowing if something might happen. Especially the enemies that camouflage themselves as normal items will keep the tension up :3
So if you liked Bioshock, then I would say Prey might also be something for you :)
It also has a very cool story that isn't really clear at the beginning.

The dlc for prey is a bit special, because it's not simply just a few more missions like in normal games. This one turns Prey basically into a roguelite game :) Make Progress-die-repeat-style. That's not something for everybody, but it's very cool to see this in an AAA game :3

That makes the DLC quite interesting to me. You may have just made buy this. Thanks for the info Garando and wishing you a happy cakeday too!

Thank you :)
Glad I could help :3
I grabbed it myself, because I only watched a playthrough of it on twitch. It has a playtime of about 15-20 hours, so I would say it's totally worth the price if you like the concept :)

I do have Bioshock 2 but guess what? Yep, that's right. Haven't played it yet. :3
Well, if anything, I'd definitely only get the base game. I'm not sure I'd want a roguelite Prey. O_o
I've watched some gameplay footage earlier today. I'm almost sold. Actually just the test part Morgan has to go through. When the goo jumped at the guy, that was totally unexpected. And it made me quite intrigued about the game. So yeah, I'm now leaning more towards buying the game. ^^

Is it very linear or you can really go at your own pace and, like, maybe just explore if you feel like to, before jumping back into the story?

You mostly have multiple ways to reach closed rooms etc. You can also partially decide to explore various rooms or buildings (side quests before main etc), but keep in mind that enemies are respawning and that you might increase backtracks even more by exploring early.

This month has been terrible for my wallet. But I'm glad that I resisted that GMG promo earlier, so I "rewarded" myself by buying Prey + DLC. ^^

Just finished the main game last week, and it's already moved into my top 5 favorite games ever. Love everything about it. The sci-fi setting, the large interactive world, and the rpg aspects are all superbly done. Even enjoyed the gunplay even though I've heard it's considered the weakest part of the game.

So anyway, does anyone have any recommendations for similar immersive sims? I think I just found my new favorite genre.

Bioshock (s), Deux Ex (new and old but skip invisible war I rekon), System Shocks(s), Dishonored games to some degree.

Alien Isolation is bloody good, no guns but very similar environment

I can attest to how great these games are, because I've already played them haha. The immersive sim genre isn't very big is it. :<

A well regarded Bethesda game on sale for more than 50%? Is something going on? I played the demo and quite enjoyed it, so definitely buying this. Thanks!

its prooobably just my overpriced region, but here its $18 for the digital deluxe... or $10 for the base game and $7 for the mooncrash dlc... which includes typhon hunter in it (despite it apparently being shit according to the reviews). So base game + dlc is cheaper than the digital deluxe... god job there bethesda.

I prefer that over, say Civ VI, where the Gold edition that includes all the DLC is often on sale for about half of what the two major DLCs cost

Gold Edition contains first expansion and all DLC. You still need to buy the second expansion on top of that to stay current.

you're right. still, it's often the same price as Rise and Fall on its own

They need to make money from all the people who get the base game from bundles etc I guess. Still because they make the game much better it's so worth buying all of them especially if you calculate price per hour. Fun to watch people argue if some game offers 20 or 50 hours of gameplay while Civs have always lasted for thousands of hours. :)

WHOA! I just had some SERIOUS dumb luck. Decided to do something SERIOUSLY stupid this morning and buy a $1 scratch off lottery card. Actually won $25! So I got me a $20 steam card and Prey is mine at last!

Stupid new glasses. Read ONE digit of the code as a 6 instead of a G and had issues with the card. >_<
