Isn't buying from a reseller like GMG or HB exactly that? The prices are occasionally lower than the Steam store...

Well, it is. But let say in a certain case where HB/GMG has the exact same price as the Steam store, would you be interested in buying from a third party for a lower price?

Not sure what you're proposing. There are countless other resellers. Are you referring to a new reseller or to some alternative means of purchasing? If so, you need to be less vague if you want any meaningful feedback.

+1, it's kind of unclear how what you're asking is any different from what other resellers offer.

I'm sorry for being vague. I'm interested in reselling Steam games but don't know whether it is worth the time and effort to compete against more well-known and trusted re-sellers. Hence the survey.

This, obviously.

HB offers 10 % charity or 5 % charity + 5 % wallet cashback. GMG and other reseller sometimes offer store credit points for purchasing. So there are advantages even at the same price.
But if it still would be the same (even after consideration of this), I'd buy it directly on Steam.

Unless you can pull something like the DailyIndieGame guy is doing ( pricing wise ) i highly doubt you can just open a store and sell stuff for the same price as steam :)
UNLESS , there is some bonus for buying from you like ppl already mentioned .

Like Humble / GMG / IndieGala etc ...

And even then , people are still kinda hard to trust a newly opened site .

The only bonus I could offer is cheaper price. But that's hardly anything against the advantages of the other sites.
Thanks anyway.

It would depend on the regional pricing. A lot of resellers sell their games in USD (I believe Bundle Stars is the only exception that has a CAD conversion), so for me, it's cheaper to buy off of the Steam store most of the time.

If you're also interested in reselling Steam games, you would need some sort of guarantee like more reputable ones have, if you want to gain people's trust. IG, GMG, HB, etc. all have a great support system where if you are issued a duplicate key, they will send you a new one.

Were you looking to set up deals with developers to sell their games through a site you made, or are you just looking to sell off extra keys you've earned from bundles/sales? If it's the latter, you may just be better off trading~

It's quite similar to the latter, also thank you for your feedback.

I noticed that Valve just added a new rule recently, Review ratings only counts from reviewers who bought the game directly from Steam. So buying directly from Steam store if you want to contribute a review/vote to the final rating.
Other than that, I see no point buying games which more expensive. I'm not rich, so lower price is always better. No matter where, but must be from a trustable place.

Thanks for the reply. I'm quite curious about how you would define "a trustable place". Lots of rep, long history, or something else ?

Yes, Resellers that have reputation all over the world, example HB, Indiegala, BundleStar..
Obisoft even has an official list of their retail vendors, which is great, that is a kind of trustable list I mentioned (can buy Steam games from here too):
https://support.ubi.com/en-us/Faqs/000022581/Approved-Retail-Vendor-List
Even more, there are many traders that has reputation (yes pick them depend on rep, long list of rep always better), sometimes I buy from them since the prices are so tempting, but still not safe like buy from Steam Store or those resellers above.
