if i want to get the cards do i need to acctualy play it or i can just leave the game open for about 2 hours?

You can just leave it open. You can even run it in text-mode if you like.

you can idle it. Tho you will always only get half the drops, even when you play normal.

On my second account (NOT FOR TF2 IDLING OFC) I was idling in HL2 for these cards. I got 4 Alyx cards lol.

Yes, you could even run it in textmode. All Source games (HL, Portal2, TF2, ...) support textmode.

But idling in the menu and Alt+Tab works, too.

Got 2 same cards out of those 3. Bad luck. Happened to me second time, I got two same from TF2 too. Noes! :(
