Some people obviously dont even know what indie-games mean, sad ..

Hmm, I'd have to say my favorite is Beat Hazard, though I love The Binding of Isaac and Hoard as well (all of these have great replay value and are great to play inbetween classes or just when you need a break. They're currently #4, 5, and 7 in my top gameplay time list on steam (in that order). I also love Psychonauts, probably one of my favorite games of all time between it's great story, use of comedy, and gameplay (my number one choice out of story driven games).

Cave Story and Binding of Isaac are the best ones for me. Bastion was pretty good too.

the term 'indie' is starting to get pretty blurry as to what's meant by it these days but that said:
Pretty much everything by Spiderweb Software, Hanako Games is terrific as well, so is Christina Love. Anything from any of the trio is pretty much guaranteed to be fantastic.

Otherwise... Trine 1 & 2, World of Goo, Frozen Synapse are my favourite indie games.
Stuff like Osmos, Cthulu Saves the World, Fairway Solitaire, Faeire Solitaire, most Wadjet Eye games released are all very nice as well, if not quite the absolute best of the breed.

I prioritized authenticity and idea rather then amplifying an existing formula to make it appealing. I believe this games scores high on almost all fields of evaluation.

I would update the list if I remember more. There are so many, but timeless games are hard to find.
