Your favorite indie game?

I don't think what killing floor is indie game. But this game is really great and others too (except terraria. I don't play in it.) I add also beat hazard, legend of grimrock, penumbra series and bit.trip series.

When you don't give the game enough time, sure. Thing is, Cave Story needs some time to get used to, and once you unlock weapons and moves, it's fun and fast.

Played it, 3 levels you get the basic weapon and the bubble gun. Then you get fireball. All are pretty fairly boring. Then after some upgrades, it got tough and the effects and such were really amazing.

Yep, plus the gun that's on the third level allows you to rocketjump adds so much depth and challenge.

If CD Projeckt RED is indie, then so is VALVE.
I think the OP meant indie, as in a small team without the resources of giants like VALVE or CD Projeckt. Yeah, technically CDP and VALVE are indies, but... come on :)

CDP Red still has a long way ahead before they can be called giant, so comparing them to Valve is a bit strong. :P

Believe it or not CDP Red is very much a indie game maker. Yes they're much larger in scale then say meat boy team, but they still fall under the category.

Let me reiterate: if CDP is indie, so is VALVE. Technically, you are correct that they are independent studios, however you'll notice that nobody calls them indies.

I don't know where you got that definition from, but it's incorrect (and stupid). Initially at least, indie was a term attributed to any independent (sic!) studio, without any publisher behind it. Thus both CDP and VALVE are technically indies.
Today it is attributed to smal teams that make games with low budgets. The Witcher 2 had $10 million budget. I wouldn't call that indie, even though the team that mad it is independent.

CDP and Valve are arguably publishers now. Valve is effectively a publisher for Steamworks games and CDP was the publisher of tW2 in Poland.

I do believe both Companies can be called indie, and have some similarities:
-both cos are making games they fucking want
-both don't have a huge number of employees
-both runs a vg digital distribution store (Valve -> Steam, CDP Red -> GOG.com)
-free updates for their games
-listening to players suggestions

They are continuing they're work actually! You just have to buy it in a new game that isn't released yet: Starbound. They claim that it's not a sequel, but it has a lot of similar qualities.

Starbound is a different game. Only one guy from Terraria switched to Starbound (Tiy) so it really isn't a continuation of Terraria.

If you read their description of the game, it sounds like a description for Terraria with a few different features plus a stronger story focus. It also seems a bit more like a roguelike than Terraria does.
