There's a Steam support page with various ways to try to recover your data. I hope that helps :)

i filled one out before doing this and they just got back to me with the same worthless shit as always
Hello,
I am sorry that you are having an issue with the Steam Cloud.
Steam Support has a limited ability to resolve these issues or restore lost data, but there are a few things that you can provide to help us better understand the issue you are experiencing. We might be able to point you in the right direction, or help you avoid this in the future.

this sh*t happens when you play on multiple devices, without ability to restore
you can backup /home/<username>/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata with syncthing to another device, enable file versioning in syncthing, so deleted save may be recovered if they have been overrwriten by steam

none of the times/games its wiped my saves on have been played on more than one device and that would be steam deck
steam deck is just extra fucky with cloud data... never had problems with it until steam deck...

You definitely have the worst luck when it comes to the Steam Deck. It's kind of wild to see.

Dude I hate it for you, I always see you having issues with your deck. I found this post online if it might help, not sure. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2937410879

Damn that sounds horrible!
I haven't experienced anything like that my side at least.
I've played a few games backwards and forwards and noticed that I always had to click on the button to manually sync the saves from cloud down to the Steam Deck, but that's about it.
Oh, and Oblivion Remastered isn't showing any saves for me on the Steam Deck, something about the saves that Steam Cloud is using is in the wrong directory or something. Though Bethesda refuses to acknowledge that it's an actual issue for some reason.

playing about 190+ hours of cyberpunk 2077 offline
go online every once and a while to unlock earned achievements and cloud my data, never well the game is open
open game well my deck is online, game asks if i want to share my game data with them as if its my 1st time playing, said no. try to load save, no saves found.....
clouded saves are also fucking gone.....
i really fucking hate my steam deck......
https://store.steampowered.com/account/remotestorage
This game files are saved in your Steam Cloud :
Folder File Name File Size Date Written
WinSavedGames CD Projekt Red/Cyberpunk 2077/user.gls 202 B May 11 @ 12:49pm Download
last time it was grabbing old cloud data and overwriting my saves without asking and i lost tons of gameplay....
anything i can do?
fixed it for now
here's what happened
cloud data split my cyberpunk compacdata
into two files.
1091500-BAK101
and
1091500
1091500-BAK101
was created on the date when i downloaded the game and WAS renamed with -BAK101
both files appear to be the exact same
the one difference i can spot from a quick search is
1091500 file was created yesterday
and it has a file link in it labeled 1091500_SAC that sends me back the 1091500 file im already in, endless loop
moved the new file out and renamed it to 10915
left other file and renamed 1091500 removing the -BAK101
the problem is steam cloud overwrote my data without asking AND hasnt been actually been clouding my data every time is says it does when i go online with my deck based on the cloud data stored on steam side
