What does that have to do with steamtrades? If you think steamtrades would be taken down for some reason then why wouldn't the same happen to steamgifts? The sites are used for similar purposes and owned by the same person.

Well, as we all know, Steamtrades isn't managed.
I used to use Steamtrades a few years ago, got so sick of all the low-ballers there that I decided to permanently delete my account.
Unfortunately most of them were angry Russians and Eastern Europeans. Are you trying to tell me that's changed?

Well as someone who uses Steamtrades on and off, I'd admit that there are some low-ballers out there (especially on any trading site tbh). That doesn't mean all of them are bad or angry Russians and Eastern Europeans though. I met some really nice traders there and we actually did have chill convos after the trade's done! So I think you were just unlucky to run into the questionable people there ^^;;

I used the site in the past and didn't have issues like that, but I only traded bundled games for other bundled games.
That doesn't have anything to do with what we are talking about though. You said "Given the conflict happening with Russia, I'm not surprised ST is down". How would the conflict with Russia have any affect on steamtrades? It is a site that people use to trade games worldwide, it is very similar to this site. If you think that site would go down because of the conflict for some reason, why wouldn't this site?
Actually, if you look at the stats for this site, you will see that Russia is a close 2nd to the US for registered users. But again, I don't see any reason for the site to go down.

Ownership of two domains doesn’t mean anything.
It’s like the ugly sister of trade sites. Steam gifts is in practice the opposite of that, cos you’re GIVING stuff away, and doing it in an organised fashion.
I prefer sites that have some sort of management, and less pre-chat before a trade.

It should be resolved but I'll need to keep an eye on the server the next few days. In short, I made changes to the ST database last week to speed up searches and reduce CPU usage in exchange for using more RAM. The server was flying a bit too close to the sun, got low on memory tonight, and that resulted in the downtown. I adjusted a few parameters to be more conservative with memory usage and that will likely fix the issue.

Yep, been down for a good 3 or 4 hours now.
It's been a long time coming, but honestly I quietly hope this is the final time and it stays down.
The place is a mess, and without moderators it's grown quite toxic and spammy.
Totally flooded with bots and other things.
I'm surprised with the split from SteamGifts that it's stayed up as long as it has.
If it's down for good, at least people will move on to the other trade channels.
