whats a good strategy to win a giveaway

Win the lottery, and you won't care anymore about winning giveaways.

The only surefire strategy for winning games is to sacrifice many games on the alter that is steamgifts. Only then will you appease RGN the karmic God of winning

Enter giveaways with multiple copies...only enter a giveaway if it has less than 500 entries ( i go with less than 300 usually) don't ever enter and expect to win new or very highly rated games

You'll win when you exepct it the least.

You could close your eyes and say there is no place like Steam Gifts 3 times,and when you open them,you will still be here...

Bottom line is there is no real way to increase your chance of winning any given GA,but there are things you can do to help you have a better chance of winning a game ,but there is no magic way to improve your overall odds of winning,as you still only get one entry per GA.

What you can do is make your own GA of games you have purchased or traded for or what not,and that in turn increase your level...and with higher levels you have more odds of finding GA with lower entries...

As you can not do GA of games added to your steam library,only steam keys or steam gifts in your inventory though they can be bundled games or bought from Steam or from a place like Green Man Gaming or even from trading,if you can not find the game in the list when creating a GA then most likely it not there as it was free at some point,so not not pick another game and make a GA that will only get you suspended and most like end up on a lot of black list.

If you look at my wins you will find most of mine are less the 800 and some even less then 100 because of level GA and well some are white list.

Getting on white list can help you enter GA with less entries,usually you get on them mostly by giving back ..

Anyhow White List and raising your Level can give you better odds with lower entry GA,but does not give you more chances to win in any single GA you still have the same odds as everyone one else who enters which is 1 in how many ever have entered vs # of copies which is usually 1 copy

Just keep trying since odds are extremely low for winning usually 1 out of 1000+

If you enter giveaway you have chance, if you don't you have none. Theres clear choice here.

As for ppl that win a lot. Check what kind of giveaways he entered. Some groups are pretty close to randomly trading games for cv here... Small groups where you have to giveaway as much as you win.

It's just like a lottery or a raffle. If there were a strategy for improving your chances, it would have to be cheating, since increasing your chances must necessarily decrease the chances for other entrants. I don't think you'd be happy to rephrase your question to, "How can I decrease everyone else's chances so I can be more likely to win?".

You could say with a lottery or raffle you could buy more tickets, but in the end each ticket has the same chance as every other.

Strategy to luck lol

You could enter all the giveaways with tons of gifts that are at the top, those have pretty good odds, and getting a higher level helps, once you're passed 5 or 6, there are not a ton of people in those levels so better odds. I don't worry about winning, I just go down my wishlist every day and enter everything I can.

Enter for giveaways you want. Every single person who was happy with his/her wins were entring for games.
100% of the winners entered for giveaways to win. Sounds like a fine strategy for me :P

well, that's your problem! you actually wanna win. you should just not care about winning and then and only then you will stand a chance.

attain level 10 by making giveaways. your chances will dramatically increase.
