I'm wanting a new headset for Xmas too, though mine is gonna need a mic for gaming :P
Good luck finding a good one!

Sound Blaster Tactical 3D Alpha. That is the way to go. It has 7.1 Surround Sound, and it is fantastic in Counter-Strike! I love mine! :D

I had those but they broke few months ago , I loved that headset! Now I got steelseries siberia v2 plugged into usb adapter from sound blaster headset and I must admit... Siberia sounds better than sound blaster tactical 3d alpha.

Steelseries Siberia V2. Can't go wrong with those ;)

What is your budget?
Go for these : Audio Technica

Yeah, I've had some M-30's for a long time, great sound and decent comfort, but they're big, and have a 10 ft cable. Not very portable unfortunately.

I recommend Razer Electras, sure they are casual and are from Razer but they provide nice 5.1 surround as well as are pretty darn durable. I've dropped mine a few times and barely got mere scratches. They also only cost about 60$ and £50 in the UK.

I've owned two razer headsets, and both have had the left ear stop working on me. Opened em up and it's not a solder point malfunction, it's somewhere in the wire. I think they twist their wires too tight and it causes a break somewhere in the line.
I will say they are by far the most comfortable headsets I've ever had.

There are many good headphone manufacturers. Sennheiser HD 518 are good but have open design so it doesn't have good noise isolation, and only a bit more expensive than what you linked. Audio Technica's ATH-M50 are also very highly regarded in quality and durability and they are around 150 euros.

I do NOT recommend these. Got them on black Friday for $15 or about £10 and they are about worth that much, very uncomfortable, and don't cancel, nor claim to cancel sound. The only benifit is that they fold into themselves. as I said, DO NOT BUY THESE, UNLESS YOU PAY VERY LITTLE!!!!

Never buy on-ear headphones, your ears will never forgive you. Always get around the ear headphones.
Those even look cheap build and they cost next to nothing, so I wouldn't even expect anything good from them.
Also I've never heard of those guys. Remember to buy from reputable manufacturer. AKG, Koss, Audio Technica, Sennheiser. They are good and build quality stuff.

Yes but what is your opinion about everything that's happening in Syria right now?

The problem is I have loads of earphones, but they just can't deliver nearly the same quality, and are less comfortable for extended use. And I don't really see the point of wireless earphones for use in public, the wire really doesn't get in the way since you can just put it down your shirt :)

Superlux is an excellent budget brand. I have a pair of 660's that I use both for gaming and music. They were too tight at first, but that was easy to fix. If you don't need any isolation, the open-back ones are generally airier and may be more suitable for music. The 668B's are very popular.

i love my V-Modas. they now have headphone attachments for them. the reason i love them is that the cord can detach from the headset. so if your cord goes out, you dont have to keep buying a new headset. music & gaming is good on them, they are built like a beast.

yikes! thats a whole lot more! they usually come down in price on Amazon for the US, to $59-$69 during Gold Box sales. ive seen them on Gold Box sales, a few times out of the year. i dont know if they do the same in your region though, but i know that you can get them cheaper than $100. I waited till mine went down to $100 before i bought mine. mine regularly go for $199. but they are a very strong headset that will last you for quite awhile. the only thing i dont like about them, is that you cant just set the earphones towards you. but that is it. they are very strong & the materials are top notch. goodluck on your hunt. i hate having to buy earphones for every little thing, so a universal headphone that has good sound in game & out of game is hard to find. but these did both for me. they sound excellent playing games & listening to music

Never heard of the brand up until a few days ago but after a little searching they seem to be making good sounding stylish metal stuff that I totally adore. Crossfade LPs were mere $69 on Amazon as one of their daily deals the past days. I am quite sure you can't go wrong with that price, especially if you are a bass head and appreciate the detachable cable - in that matter you can wear the headphones with your iPhone and have voice control, buy (well, not included, but still cheaper than actually buying a new set of headphones) a gaming cable with a proper mic and such. Style on these is a total beast too and the attention to detail is hooking me fully. Read some random reviews and see for yourself.

yes, the original ones have a bit more bass to them, which are the $69. i have the LP2 & i love them. its slightly less bass but more balance in its sound stage.
i misspoke, when i said headphone attachments. they now have a Boom Pro Microphone attachment that ive been eying on their website. i dont know if they are included with the newer headphones. but its $30 for the extra attachment & it fits on all V-Moda Headsets.
the case that comes with the Headset is super strong. their warranty is for 2 years & then if the headset dies on you, you then have a 50% warranty off your next set of V-Modas for a lifetime. i got 2 cords with mine. a long braided cord & a shorter one that includes volume nob & a mic, on the cord. nothing super fancy. you have an extra jack for stereo listening, so even though it can fit in your ipod, it can also fit in your stereo system, if you listen to music that way. the tags on the side of the headphones detach, so you can hear sound in an open sound stage. but the noise cancelling is top notch, if you leave the tags on. you can even have them customize your own set of tags, like they do with Astro headsets on V-Modas website. i thought that was pretty cool. i swear by these things. im considering on getting their newer ones that are super spendy. they just put out a really excellent product & their isnt alot of turn over or bad things that i have heard about them other than customers complaining about how a headset doesnt fit their big head. but that is common with any Headset.

I got a pair of AKG K81DJ four years ago and have loved them; the audio quality is fantastic, and if you can get them on sale it's really hard to beat.
The only problem I've had with them is they are a bit tight on my head, so prolonged wear (4+ hours) can cause discomfort since they're on-ear rather than over-ear. But my head is on the larger side, so YMMV.
edit: derped on name

Personally, I don't like wearing around-ear out of the house; I feel like they're too bulky and look silly, that's why I got the K81DJs in the first place actually.

Never buy Beats. Piece of crap that's ridiculously expensive and overrated due to Dr Dre signature. Sennheiser, Denon, GRADO when it comes to headphones.

Oh, good to know :D You know, LOTS of people are like:
I love music
wow
I know so much about it, wo, wow
Beats are best
I listen to 192 kbps MP3.
And I am like: fml.

Every set of earphones/headphones I get always ends up being absolute garbage in terms of sound quality. They nearly always have either over-driven bass that overpowers the actual audio or tinny-as-hell treble that has an equal yet opposite effect. Full headphones typically end up hurting my ears after a while, and that's no good for a gaming addict.
Though they rarely last more than a few months if the wires keep getting twisted, I swear by these simple, cheap little things, if only for the audio quality : Sony MDR-E 818 LP

My only and true love. They might look oldschool or look a bit fragile, but believe me, it's worth every peny. And there is a discount going on, so it might be best christmas gift you can imagine.
If you need a better description on how they sound, PM me.

As you are probably well aware, Christmas is round the corner, and I was thinking of getting myself some headphones, since I can't really walk around in public with my giant turtle beaches, and earphones really aren't cutting it.
They'd only be used for listening to music, and would need to be fairly durable.
I was thinking of these, but I'm sure someone will know of better :)
Thanks everyone! :D (Giveaway coming soon, what cheap game do you guys want?)
More details:
Budget: up to £75 (€90)
EDIT:
Thanks for the many amazing suggestions and various inputs from you all, plenty of new bookmarks ;) Despite all the great headphones mentioned, I think I'll stick with the original ones I found, simply from a portability/price/availability point of view.
As for the giveaway, I'll be inviting everyone who made a useful contribution to a group, and doing a group giveaway there :)
Thank you all again!
EDIT 2:
