If you could choose, what time period would you have liked to have lived in?

I'd choose either medieval times or maybe the 1940's or 1950's. I don't know why, but things seemed a lot easier back then compared to now.

Sorry. I was rewatching A League of Their Own on tv just now and got the idea for this. Movie always seems to make me feel good.

The future, but once we've already gotten past all the traditional horrible stuff (wars, famine, disease, discrimination, etc.) and some scary times I expect will happen (technology to read/control the mind in widespread use, various biological revolutions brought on by technology). So, maybe 20-30 thousand years from now?

I like the current time. Maybe just go back in time 10 years or so to fix some stuff and while I'm at it fully enjoy 2000s.

Sure I would like to take a tour in a time period of the past, but living in it... Things have gone easier and easier as time goes by. And it's a different mind-set.

To be honest, I will not want to change the time. IF there were ever be a truly peace time of peaceful period then that would be it. Kind of what we are living in the world as of now. Although there are still many dangers of going to war recklessly. Generally between nations, at the negotiation tables we do not have soldiers with tanks and weapons as a backdrop.

This is a period of peace and technological advancement. Yes, we also are facing a lot of issues and idiocracy (Idiotic and Craziness). That could be said to what we have faced in the past and the future. I am not willing to part with the technological, medical advancements we had made so far. However, things were much simpler, people seems more friendly, interactive and kind when they do not have such advancements and luxuries to pursue.

Writing up to here, perhaps no matter the time or era you live in, it is YOU that makes the difference. If you pursue the simpler things in life, a lot of things are easier and your life is easier no matter which era you are in. That cannot be said to uncontrollable situations, like disasters or born in a warring state, etc.

Cheers, Cruse~

That's true, these designs were so sick. I saw a great collection of clothes from this era through the one before (~1870's) all in different shades of green - all beautiful, different styles, different bustles and trains and sleeves and etc. etc. etc.

... and how undoubtedly some or most of those dresses had arsenic in the beautiful green dye. Ditto with green pigments used in maps, illustrations, and wallpapers. Those that survived today are still dangerous!

The distant future so I would know what technology and media would look like. Something like 2100 to 2180.

Future. Unless that's against the rules. Then early days. I'd like to try to influence America's founding. Try to solidify peace between the native Americans and the old colonials. That, or feudal Japan. Although medievil sounds good too. It's similar just with long swords and heavy plated armor.

the last period of the stone age would be interesting, from 12k years ago (end of the last ice age) to around 7k years ago (copper age) would be interesting, among mesolithic hunters gatherers and the early aryan european neolithic farmers.

As a colored person, I'd rather stay in this time period.
However, if I were to have absolutely no racial bias during my time travel, I would like to go back to the 1950's in America.

Future when everything is automated and people are free to do what they like because they like it rather than because they're constantly pressured by everything to make money... Although, knowing humanity, we'll manage to find a way to fuck it up.
Alternatively- in the future when all of humanity has united to achieve greatness and stuff, but that's realistically never gonna happen. :P

Not too distant future, when the economy is stable, maybe?

As a kid I was really into "classic" fantasy so I thought that living in medieval times would be really cool. Then I learned that (magic aside) "medieval fantasy" and real medieval times are two different things...

Generally no matter what time period you pick - it wasn't so nice and "romantic" as you usually see in games/movies/novels.
It's bit like watching anime and thinking that you want to live in Japan, because Japan from anime is soo cool.

Also remember that many things depends from who and where you are - you wanted to be knight and ride horse into battle, but you get to be farmer girl that dies while giving birth to her 6th kid.

Anyway many times seem interesting to visit - from ancient Egypt or China to late XIX England, but I wouldnt want to spend whole life there (then).

Plus I'm a girl so I would be fucked for majority of history ¯_(ツ)_/¯

So, unles you give me my dragons and magic, I will stick to my pc and running water.

1910s. EU was in the midst of WW1 but my region was pretty in peace watching the fire on the other side of the globe. A huge democratic movement had surged in that era as well.

The future's where it's at, babey - if I go back more than literally a few decades, I wouldn't be able to even open a line of credit in my own name, let alone travel safely with my girlfriend. Hell, there's a lot of places where I can't do that now. It's hard to really be thrilled about backwards time travel when, uh, when opportunities, resources, and rights for people in your position were even more kneecapped by structural inequality.

The future, though? The possibilities are endless. I'd get me my own spaceship cruiser and jet set around some sick ass future planets. Imagine the architecture! Imagine the variety of incredible shit to see.

Along with space travel, I have to imagine having the ability to use technology like that in Westworld or in the U.S.S. McCallister episode of Black Mirror where you can visit any virtual words you'd like, with any time period you like. All the aesthetic and romance of the Roaring Twenties, Victorian Era, Pirate Age Caribbean, etc. etc. with none of the marginalization. Just fun this time! (The morality of nonhuman entities re: Westworld is another subject all together.) The best of both worlds.

I think most time periods in the past would be interesting to experience briefly, but not nearly as comfortable to actually live in (particularly for minorities and women, as others have pointed out). Actually, I recently watched Suburbicon, which is set in the 1950s and is partially based on the true story of a black family being continually harassed for moving into a white neighbourhood. It was a strong reminder of the ugliness underlying the sweet, tidy aesthetic of the fifties.

I might consider living in the future, but that would really be dependent on what the future actually looks like. If it's, say, an irradiated wasteland, I'll happily stay put.
