I've had a message with TF2 that said something similar. Something along the lines of "I'm playing in non-secure mode and can't continue". I just had TF2 do a file check and fix the corrupted file.

Go to your library in Steam, right click, go to properties. Go to Local Files, then click Verify Integrity of Game Cache.
