Haven't seen the show yet, but here's my favourite reaction video so far.

Agreed with that. I knew it was coming and was interested to see how they'd act it out and I have to say, very well done to them.

I am a book reader and despite that it pissed the hell out of me. A second time. I hope Martin will burn in the Writer's Hell one day.

I was like NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
And then I was like Man this dude can write.

Had to fucking Google what the hell it was and I've read it all. The Purple Wedding isn't exactly a good name for that.
Comment has been collapsed.
Which is retarded, since you'd have to know what it stood for to know it was a spoiler.

There's numerous updates being planned for SG in all aspects of the site. I don't know even half of them. That might be one of them, I don't know.

It was a crazy episode that's for sure (Which I didn't at all see coming, I spent most of the episode thinking "Wow, There isn't that much action, Guess they are saving it for episode 10), and it also means I only have Daenerys Stormborn and her dragons to root for now (Crown wise), But god, with this episode it really proves anything can happen.
I'm scared how they will end episode 10, I mean, How are they really going to top this Cliffhanger?

I haven't read the books, but a friend of mine who has read it told me without any spoilers, that there's gonna be a lot of new characters and that he was also afraid when he reached this point in books, but even after this horrible slaughter the story line is still great and keeps going on pretty good. So this is kinda my consolation for now, though I was stunned and I cursed G. R. R. Martin when I saw 9th episode.. :)

I too have started with season 1 before reading the books. And then season 2.. Then I took a little look at the first book and compared to the first season to decide wether I wanted to read them all before continuing with the series, but even if I know there are tons of things being left out, I decided the series was worthy enough to be watched without knowing what was coming next.
I'd rather have a big WTF moment watching something I'm seeing for the first time than reading it in tens of pages. I love reading books, but I have to say the effect that the screen gives you when watching a good movie/series full of surprises is something different. And this last episode convinced me even more that I did the right choice.

Haven't seen the episode yet. What do you meant they found a way to kill Ned again?
Comment has been collapsed.
He may mean the feeling you get when Ned is killed - you somehow get it on Red Wedding as well - a surprise death of character(s) most people enjoy. Ofc Martin loves to kill his characters, yet there are not as many as "emotional" deaths. Cause honestly - who cried after Viserys? Who will cry after death(s) of characters in next season (which I will not speak about anymore not to spoil fun for those who didn't read books)? Yet, at least for me, there are 3 deaths in a series (2 have been on a show so far) that had strong emotional impact, and this is one of them, so emotionally it's "kiling Ned Stark" all over again :>
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, I was surprised when I heard they killed her off, but Jeyne was a lot more use to the Lannisters than this Volantis chick was.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, I know of it. Personally, I'm still holding out for that particular fan theory. Those little inconsistencies in hip size...
Comment has been collapsed.
Well - it's possible, yet also it's as possible that it was a simple mistake made by Martin - it's only one sentence in one paragraph, not mentioned ever again.
The conspiracy theory I'm still holding out for is actually the one related to thre ancestors of one actual bastard... ;>
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah, I'm a huge fan of that one too, but I'm holding out for a triple-cross from Jeyne's mother.

Why are you reading this thread if you haven't seen it yet?! WHY?! D:
And you should know you DON'T want to know what happens before you see it, from the reaction video you posted. :(
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm among the "Yep" faction, numbnuts. I wouldn't be here if I hadn't read every book. I just don't have a TV license to watch it as it airs, so I'm having to wait until I can find the episode on the internet.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, Lord Bolton sent Jamie back, didn't he? Wanted to make nice with the Lannisters. He was obviously changing sides there. Then he was at the wedding. That was a big hint that Frey had sided with the Lannisters as well.

I've just watched the episode.
I started reading the books but I'm not yet to this point of the story.
I started thinking that was really wrong when we heard Rains of Castamere seeing what this song mean and from that point I was feeling like something was going to turn bad.
I wasn't expecting it to be so soon though, I felt like it was more of a future betrayal announcing itself, so when the slaughter started I was incredibly surprised.... a lot of "oh my god !!!" ; "NOOO" ; "WTF !!!" :-O
And then.... Rob's mother strating trying to save her son... and I was like... "Oh yes, at least Rob may get out of there"
So it was like killing them again twice with the final scene. I was devastated. My King is dead. Who am I gonna stand for now ?
I feel empty. This day is going to feel horrible.
And i'm so sad for Arya, I was so impatient for her to see her family again.
I still can't believe it....
Comment has been collapsed.
No not over reaction at all! I know how he feels... I was shocked!
I knew something bad was going to happen the moment that guy walked to the doors and closed them, the the song of Rains of Castamere started playing and I already had goose bumps...
Comment has been collapsed.
Now now, there's no need to be upset. Lighten up and stop being such a grumpy pants! People will enjoy things whether you understand it or not, it doesn't make your opinion of such any more valid than the next person, nor does bashing someone's appearance. ;)

Both of you, cool the fuck down before I suspend both of you for acting like children.
Comment has been collapsed.
Nah I knew exactly what was going to happen (I've read the books) and fucking hell, the part in question was acted incredibly well.
Comment has been collapsed.
I was exactly like, at least I think anyone who loves this show, feels this way...
The moment those doors were closed, I knew something bad was gonna happen, but I didn't think it would be like this... That Walder Frey slaughtered all of them in cold blood...! Now I hate him more than I hate Joffrey!
Comment has been collapsed.
how do you think they'll do 5th season (cause 3rd book is obviously split into 2 seasons) beacuse people who read 4th book know why is it more likely to be "joined" with 5th book into sam season
Comment has been collapsed.
I kind of doubt he did since I'm pretty sure not even he knows all the details of where he's going. Link or it didn't happen.
Comment has been collapsed.
That doesn't really count as spoiling the end, and I always figured that he gave them one version of events, not necessarily his version. Just a way to keep the books a surprise for everyone involved while still leaving a future for the show.
Comment has been collapsed.
they may not be able to make it as these books are longer than 3rd one... They will have to either go for 3 seasons or simply drop the events happening in locations and with people who haven't been mentioned in the TV series so far (if they dropped whole Dorne arc for example, the main story wouldn't suffer too much, yet they would have to make third less material based on Feast for Crows :>)
Comment has been collapsed.
The one I think you mean (one of the big weddings) has happened.
Comment has been collapsed.
It's obvious that Joffery's wedding is coming, but that last part of the sentence is a spoiler.
People might have 'premonitions' of what might happen after something that has happened but you don't need to add that line.
Comment has been collapsed.
I was wondering how they've got this far acting like they did... This episode makes up for whole season 2 which lowered the ratio of Starks killed per season below 1, I was disappointed by that earlier.
Too bad The Walking Dead's season 3 ending didn't fuck with the audience like this, the last episode was just meh.
Comment has been collapsed.
Have you read the books? The seasons line up nicely with the books - No main character Starks died in the second season so the ratio was always going to be less than 1.
Comment has been collapsed.
It hurts every time I think about the Red Wedding. I read the book but had to stop reading for some time now to focus on my boards. I haven't seen the TV series yet but do plan on one day. I had this spoils for me on FB (ughh). I also play the LCC card games for AGOT. I think after this I am never ever putting another bolton into my deck nor will I ever play the plot "The Red Wedding."

Yep, couldn't wait for your reply so I just read it! :D Thanks, it was a very interesting analysis!
Although I didn't understand that dialogue where she told Sam "You're Like a Wizard!". if you ask me, it was just a compliment, wasn't it? (Without spoilers please :D )
Comment has been collapsed.
I think that when you first meet Sam -in the books- and he is talking to Robb, he mentions that what he really wanted in life was to be a wizard. She says it as a simply off-the-cuff compliment and he takes it as so, but he looks a little 'surprised' as though he remembered that at one point he was hoping to be a wizard and she has sort of made it come true.

they should kill and the staff that works for the series too...you know.. producers, the other actors, the make-up artists, cameramans etc ,the horses, the crows, cut down the trees on every place the went, tare down the castles, kill ... ..everyone.
Comment has been collapsed.
How else would the series end. Cant think of a better alternative ending.
Im imagining George R. R. Martin putting everyone next to each other, killing them all, giving a big smile for the camera and then killing himself too.
Comment has been collapsed.
The worst part of the episode ;_; First Lady in Season 1, now Grey Wind. They better not kill any more direwolves!
Comment has been collapsed.
So many people blaming HBO... I wonder if they realise the series is based on a book at all and that's how it happens in the book?
Comment has been collapsed.
When I was reading that part during a train ride, I was so pissed that I threw the book through the cabin. People thought I was insane.

i would lie i was expecting this but i knew something like that was coming :) i think in next ep10 they will kill the younger brother and bran will go to the wall or something Lanisters will celebrate but not for long and Daenerys will get boats at last :)
Comment has been collapsed.
That's almost so un-like the books, that I begin to think the writer knows full well what happens and is leading people on.
