I've had some packs recently. Maybe your chances have gone down due to levels being easier to come by as of the summer sale.

I got one 1 or 2 days ago and 1 about 20 days ago (for one of my first game), so yeah, they are still around. Maybe you got under some level of how many drops remaining for you.

Can i ask something? With that many games,i think you should drop a fair amount of packs. Are they give enough money to buy a new AAA game often?

people craft cheap badges, so the boosters we get usually have like 0,06 cents value max. You can get 1 each week max. 52*0,06=3,12, if you not living in a region where game base prices cheap then it is not enough for even 1 ok indie game. Not even worth the time to post to market, it was when cards were 6-10 cents about ~3-4 years ago

Where did you get that 1 per week max? It's not any kind of a real thing, you can get several per day even.

Guys how does booster packs drops work?

What you need to do to be able to get it as I have never got any in all my years?

I think its based on other players making badges, the more badges are made the more booster packs are dropped to other players. I believe profile level has something to do with it, the higher your level the higher the chances to get a random pack. It was like this a few years ago, don't know if they changed the system. I got around 6-7 boosters since their introduction

It works like a lottery.more games+higher levels=higher chances.
here is the TLDR from the FAQ:
You need to have a account non-limited.
Whenever someone crafts a badge somebody else that has the game receives a booster pack.
Every level is +1 chance to win a booster pack.
You have a cooldown after you receive a pack.

Thank you. But I don't have to craft badges myself?

Like I can have games but 0 game badges and still get some booster pack?

No you don't.You have to exhaust the drops from the game tho("no card drops remaining" message when you go to badges.)
You can check yourself the list of games you are eligible to win(your name tab->badges->booster pack eligibility)

As far as i remebrer, some1 who able to receive a booster for selected game (checkable on badges page in profile) will get a booster pack, when amount of cards for that selected game on market becomes low (not sure how it is works for deleted from store games).
One person may get a single booster weekly, usually every friday for me. Every level of steam profile increase chance to receive a pack, yet i received them every week since they were releaced, no matter was i am level 10 or level 50.
Also, to receive a booster, you have to run any game at least once in past week (or login at least once in past week in steam client, but not sure about it).
Usually, more games + more steamlevels both increase chance for random booster pack to drop, cause being lvl 1000 on steam, but with a single game, doesnt guarantee that selected game amount of available cards become low enough on market to drop a booster pack for some1.

If not sure, why make things up. You can get several boosters per day and it happens when someone crafts a badge.

Honestly, i constantly getting a booster once in a week on both acc's, huge and little one. However, i still may be wrong. Thank you for clarifying.

Do you only log in once a week? If you stay logged in 24/7, you can get boosters at any time. But most likely people are using Steam the most and also crafting a lot on Fridays/weekends which can lead to that illusion.

I think steam level also reduces the time between possible booster drops, I get one every 2.5 days on average.

It increases the chance of getting one at any given time but there is absolutely no minimum time between drops. For a low level with few games getting 2 in a day would be like winning the lottery jackpot twice, but there are some people who have done that. I can get 5 per day during heaviest sale crafting time (before this summer when Gaben ruined crafting) or then there can be a week with no drops.

I've never gotten a drop. =(

I also don't understand how people get them. I've read the FAQ ect about it but I'm still confused about it.

The chances are pretty low and most people that get dropes have a big ammount of games+high level

Im definitely not a high level user. Ive gotten 4 or 5 booster packs up to this day (maybe more)
But most of them are for complete shovelware.. Not once for a game I would craft the badge myself

Somebody crafts a Game X badge, so Game X drops a booster. Only two users, User X and User Y, are eligible. Both User X and User Y are sub-level 10, thus they both have 100 theoretical entries, meaning their chances vs. each other are 1:1. If User Y is instead level 10, they have a 20% higher chance - 20 more entries
Your Steam Level increases your rate of receiving a booster pack drop: Level 10: +20% increase in your drop rate Level 20: +40% increase in your drop rate Level 30: +60% increase in your drop rate Level 40: +80% increase in your drop rate Level 50: +100% increase in your drop rate

Thank you for the explanation. My Steam level is 40+, but I have very less games that I'm eligible for a booster pack, that's probably why I've never gotten one.

You want to make sure you've received all your drops that came with whatever games you have that have cards. If you don't want to play those games, look into ASF to have it auto-idle for you.

https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/gCxhN/software-archis-steam-farm-asf-steam-idler-and-much-more-windowslinuxos-x

Once you've gotten all your drops, the only thing you can do to increase your chance is what kaca23cro said: raise your Steam level to slightly increase your drop rate. That can be done mainly through crafting badges and participating in Steam events like the games during Steam sales.
