So I traded all but one game from the Sherlock bundle (so all games from the bundle except the Dracula game):

  • Sherlock Holmes: Nemesis
  • Sherlock Holmes: Hound Of The Baskervilles
  • Sherlock Holmes: Awakened Remastered Edition
  • Sherlock Holmes: The Mystery Of The Mummy
  • Sherlock Holmes: The Mystery Of The Persian Carpet
  • Sherlock Holmes: The Silver Earring

He gave me:

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 2

Now either this is a good deal OR I am missing some kind of promotion deal on CoD BO2. Which I would find odd as they aren't really known for doing that kind of stuff (heck they still sell CoD 1 for 19.99)..

Sherlock Holmes is 1000% better than BO2.

Well it's not used, I already redeemed the key (he went first)

Then I would fear it's stolen. Play it as much as you can now lest it get revoked later for a CC chargeback.

I suggest you install and play as much as you can right now, before the cc fraud/chargeback removes it... :)

Steam can just take away my key ? :s Even if I have nothing to do with any possible credit card payment issues ? That's like a car dealer selling a car, that guy sells it to someone else and then the car dealer trying to get the car back from the 2nd guy instead of the payment from the 1st...

Something similar happened to me. Trade stuff, then the thing that I received got revoked by Steam. I then contacted Steam support and explained everything. At the end they return the game. but idk if this applies to everyone.

The game was Torchlight 2 btw.. This happened around last year.. I think..

Actually it's more like the guy buying it from some dodgy guy that stole it and the police coming around to reclaim it...

If you buy a stolen car, you don't get to keep it. Doesn't matter how much you paid for it...

If the Black Ops purchase turns out to be fraudulent, it will disappear from your library. Item/gift trades done through the trading system can be reversed, although you may need to contact support and ask for it. But since you gave this person serial numbers, there's no way for Valve to reimburse you. So you'd lose the Black Ops, plus the money you spent on the Sherlock Holmes games, and get nothing back.

p.s. Do you understand why this trade is ridiculous? You paid US$4 for those keys (or possibly zero, if you got them during the glitch) and expected a US$40 game (on sale) in return? Good luck friend, but you might want to stop trading, you're going to be making one of these threads every week... :(

Maybe he didn't know about the bundle and was basing the trade on the Steam prices.

Let's hope. Already been scammed twice lately... I take this as my "karma returned trade" :)

Seems that you will have your game chargedback, just saying. Already happened with my brother with Arma 2: CO.

Let's hope this was an honest dealer... he seemed to be.. used his real steam account (50 or so games on it), linked to his steamtrades account (+10 positive feedback)... If I got scammed a 3rd time I'm gona kick some butt never seen anymore since Guybrush arrived on Melee Island with Root Beer @(

If it's to good to be true, it often is. Just don't trade if it's fishy and you don't want to loose a few dollars. And a AAA game like CoD for a current bundle is definitely fishy.

With 3 indie bundles happening every week, 50 games aren't that many...

Either you are lucky or the account was hijacked. Then you are unlucky.
