Hello Everyone,

I want to expand my WL. I occasionally do GAs for contributors/ active users (not bots) on this website. To be considered, look at following criteria.
I expect to add 70-100 people by end of this drive (3-4 weeks).

  1. Active on forums within last 6 months/recently done giveaways.

  2. Not rely on Dollar bundles to increase SG level. (Specifics- Using $1 bundle >4 times) not leeching (Around 1/1 Ratio). If you have 1.5, ratio I will most likely still add you.

  3. Describe how playing games has made a positive impact on your life. Please just explain your thoughts. Your response already proves you are not a bot.

3b. For example, some ideas are improving reflexes, spend time/co-op with family/friends, etc.

Note: If you are close to meeting above points, I will take a closer look at profile. Double check that profile is not private.
Happy Gaming!

Edit: Silence GA is live. I will keep open for another week to give other people a chance to respond.
Removed happy/time waste reason.

What kind of computer do you own?

New/ Best (Can run any AAA game)

Will be upgrading/ building a new PC

What are games?! different kinds of experience: in learning languages, improving the speed of reaction and understanding of society. today there are many genres of games, and everyone will find a game to your taste. in the process of familiarizing with the gaming industry, I tried a lot of different genres, they all somehow trenerovali me (Especially my patience) thousands of losers have passed through Menna since the platform Dendy. I still remember my 2000s with a smile when I had Dendy, it was in the form of a keyboard to which you can connect a mouse and a joystick, the keyboard itself was used only in the training cartridge, which probably came with the console, this cartridge, something like:DOS or windows. then I was 6 years old and I really liked it. after 2 years, I bought a computer and insisted on selling my favorite consoles and a collection of cartridges with games, honestly I still miss those times and now would be happy to play in the same console. Someone ask "Why holding on to the old? There is an emulator "and I will answer" Not one emulator will not give me those emotions that I experienced while playing games, playing with friends for two in tenis or some fighting game. The emulator allows you to save the game, which kills the romance of the time when you had to go through the game for 1 run without dying more than 3 times. and oddly enough, the game at the time I was much better than now the same game on the emulator" what are the games?! first of all, in order to feel in the skin of a mythical creature or a person in General to do what real life will not allow to do, but the main thing - a measure, otherwise you can lose reality.

Added. True, the nostalgia factor can be very important. I still have my NES and Ninja Turtles was a favorite game from that console.

with TMNT I had a funny and hurtful story. Dad bought me a cartridge from one of the games about turtles, it was for the game I do not know, as the cartridge was not NES, but most likely from Sega as it was in a box of significantly large size, cartridges from Dandy usually in smaller boxes. Of course, all I saw on the TV at the start of the cartridge-a Red screen, then I was very upset, but now there is an emulator and I most likely have already passed this game and now laugh about the case

From when i was a kid i liked playing games. I remember that i was finishing the same games in gameboy colour again and again without get bored of them. These days i still enjoy playing games to escape from the "real world" and have fun. But most of all i enjoy playing games with friends! Its a realy good experience thats makes you closer with your friends in reality too. Also sometimes you meet new friends online and you play with them hours and hours... :D learning their culture and sometimes you meet them in reality too. Games also saved me from television, that these days saw us a lot of crap without much choises for what to see. For me playing games is better than just watching a movie or a serie cause you actualy doing something.

For point 2, define "rely." I gave away two copies of one of those dollar bundles, but I mostly give away Humble Bundles and monthlies, with a few full value (non-monthly) games for events. I'd still be level 7 without that dollar bundle.

For point 3, my interest in games got me into computer engineering, which is now my career. Of course, I started by playing. Then I started exploring basic programming (starting with BASIC), and wrote a points manager Visual Basic app for a clan I was in. I took all the courses I could in high school, and now I develop firmware.

I'm already on your list, but still would like to answer :)
How PC games have improved my life:

  1. I know english. well.
  2. I know and like history.
  3. I work in IT (started by tinkering with games to make them work on my potato PC at the time)
  4. In the army I found out I'm an excellent shot (pretty much mediocre everything else).

P.S. I have a potato PC, but awesome graphics card, so I can still play any game I own in max settings :P

Most importantly, gaming for me is the best way to de-stress at the end of a busy day. Besides that, I started programming because I wanted to make games. My plans changed a bit overtime (due to learning about average work conditions in the AAA gaming industry and increasing difficulty to be noticed as an indie dev), but I'm currently studying Computer Science and I'm happy to have started with programming early since it gave me a nice head start ;)

The Bard's Tale 1 when I was around 10 or 11 maybe had a huge impact on my life, it is perhaps one of the reasons that I am still here. If not for this game the problems I were going through at that time might have reached that point where it no longer felt worth going on. Delving down into the dungeons gave me a way to feel good about myself and solving the puzzles made me feel like perhaps there was hope after all.

The value of being able to escape into a good book or game for those who have trouble expressing themselves and talking to others can never be over estimated.

as others often said: it made me learn english, which i now need half the day.
there were times when most of my social interaction was related to online games, which helped me at these times..
nowadays - while writing my phd thesis, having RL friends and a gf - playing games is luxury, but still a welcome distraction... praise the sun!

They impacted a lot for me. The first game I played was Tonic Trouble, a very complete game, a very difficult game (for me at least), and I would love Steam add it to the store. That game made me happy in my childhood when I suffered bullying. Little by little I was playing more games, like Ratchet and Clank and Sly Raccoon, games that I'm plpaying right now in my PS3 in the trilogy edition. Without games, maybe I wouldn't be the person I'm right now. And I'm glad of it.

Actually, gaming brings me a lot, this big universe of video games with videos, servers, communitys, SteamGifts & Bundles or eSports ... Working hard on Counter-Strike now with reflex & teamplay (btw this game get me speak english pretty easily) but used to get a lot of fun before with friends on GMod, Altis Life & a lot more. I'm a big fan of Story Mode games too with some story you just can't forget after played it & have such a great souvenir of it, maybe I'm a bit too much of an emotional player ! :3

Been playing games since I was 6 or so, so 24+ years now - cRPGs in particular inspired me to go into writing and journalism, as well as film. Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Fallout 1/2, Arcanum, later Bloodlines as well :)

I would like to join your whitelist. Been playing games for over 30 years and still love playing them when I can. Real life and work makes it more difficult to spend time on one of my favourite hobbies but it allows me to get way from the stresses and strains of real life and do what I would never do in real life (shooting things, commanding armies, swinging swords and chopping things into bits). Started with the C64 computer back in the 80's and been playing them ever since up to now the PC. With regards to the requirements, I believe I meet them for the first two points.

There's one game called Mystery Case Files. When I was little, me and my sister would play it again and again, - finished it like 100s of times. So everytime we played it, we would find new words to study and translate (I'm not of English origin, you see). So yeah, if you ask me what gaming means to me, I'll answer that it gave me the best of the fun when I was little not that I'm old right now and that it helped me be what I am now.
If you include people with 1.16 sent/won ratio, I'd be more than happy to apply

Final Fantasy VII helped me becoming a better person. Spoilers I guess, if you've never played it.
It helped me realize how silly it is to lie to yourself when you don't like the truth. You need to learn to cope with the truth, because by hiding from it you'll only end up too weak to face it.
I learnt that if you don't like who you are, you must first accept your current true self, your weaknesses and your strenghts. Only then you'll have the right prospective to know how to work to become who you want to be.

Nowadays videogames help me endure chemotherapy. The way they distract me from the sickness is of great help.
I guess any hobby would be of help in this situation, but videogames ARE my hobby so that's that.

Thank you for the chance.

Started gaming on a brand new Atari 2600 console that my father bought for Xmas. I was 5 and I played with my sister and my Dad pretty much all day that Xmas day and I think that might have been the longest interaction with my Dad I'd had in my life at that point. I wouldn't say we bonded over games but it did change our dynamic for a few hours every week over the next few years and various gaming systems.
In other ways, I believe gaming, in addition to books, really helped me develop my creative side and cured my terminal shyness in school.
It never fails to amaze me when people who know nothing about gaming say that it makes kids loners. I've never been part of any community like the gaming community.

Started on console NES, SNES. TMNT, Mario, Tetris, Zelda 1&3, Mario Kart, Crash Team Racing on PS. Expanded to RPG's with FF8/9. Greatly enjoyed the storytelling mixed with the combat, and occasional puzzles. Later got into d10 (WoD/VtM/ecetera) in HS. Never found my 'crowd' so to speak, so I ended up gaming more and finding real friends that way.

So...I guess it's friends, immersive storytelling, and puzzles when I just need something small. Gotta love adventure! The art and animation can be a huge plus too. (:

I'm not really looking to get added (I have many games I want to finish before delving deeper in the giveaways here)
But I kinda wanted to share my game story.
I started gaming when I was 7 years old which is quite young for a pc gamer imo.. At first it were almost all browser games and then I started playing MMO's which in turn made it so my parents and my parents friends started playing those same MMO's. So gaming made my family/family friends closer because my mom started her own guild and went partying (in game lol) with my father and friends. Then they became even more addicted than myself and were always around 20 lvl's higher than me :P Good times, my mom is still a really active gamer (just bought her portal knights because she wanted something new) My dad doesn't game much anymore except for on his mobile. And I don't really play many MMO's anymore. But I still play a lot of different games ^^ Anyway gaming is great as long as you know your limits and such, oh and my english improved a lot because of gaming which made my grades great.

If played in the right way, games are exceptional tools to open our minds, to know new cultures, to sharpen our senses. Many of them stimulate our feelings. I've been fascinated by games for over 30 years.

I don't know if I'll meet your requirements. Anyway, God bless you pal.
