f$&k! That moment when you realise that you have already spent shitloads of money on something that is never going to pay off.. yeah.

The worse part, i want more! I used to have an itch, buying lottery ticket every now and then(few months time). Now, every now and then has become a weekly task, with more money invested too.

I need to change my perception, i know the chances of winning it, i know it is free tax for stupid people, so do drunkers know that alcohol is ruining their life but yet they continue. Hate myself.

Do you have any such problems too?

I'm addicted to giving stuff away.

Don't worry, I've got a budget, it's under control.

My mom buys lottery tickets and my dad puts the same amount of money in a jar each week. At the end of the year they compare their "winnings" and he always comes out on top no matter how much my mom won from her tickets.

Found 20€ in my pocket, nice. Will spend last 10€ for euromillions, my last lottery ticket for the next 3 months. Tomorrow is the drawing. Here, i said it! If i, for any reason i go and buy another ticket until that time expires, i will post here, telling everyone how weak i am, and be ashamed of myself!

Now, to increase my non existing chances of winning, i am making a promise, that i will buy everyone a game by their own choice, no $$$ limit, limited to 1 game only! Why not give away money? Because that's not rational.

Good luck everyone!

I was addicted to TF2's crates for awhile. Every one that I got I opened. Then one time I looked at my market transactions, I had spent over $600 on keys!
I stopped playing TF2 all together just to get away from those evil crates.

If you have a gambling issue it doesn't go away just like that. It's a compulsion/addiction as people may have mentioned, so you'll need to work hard to break the habit and find another outlet.

I'd recommend contests/sweepstakes, things that you can participate in without financial investments. There's no "thrill" in terms of risk and reward, there's only the possibility of reward. But that's essentially what you need to learn how to do - stop risking things for amusement. You like the risk more than the reward (as an addicted gambler). So either you learn to like to reward more and learn how to weigh risks against it...or you go into poverty and ruin your life...or you find a new hobby. One of those 3. :)

You forgot to mention the possibility of winning the lottery.. :P It is very unlikely to happen, but to be honest, chances are!
Well, you have some good points, but i will go with reducing the money invested, and slowly progress from that. I find it as a viable option, one that could work for me. I already have a goal, and i mean to stick to it.

My current addiction is smoking. I've been smoking for about 6 years now. I smoke on average a pack of day. I get so anxious and restless when I don't have a cigarette.

First of all, stop calling it an investment. Gambling on lotteries cannot be an investment because your expected return is negative.

I can understand someone wanting to have the occasional punt on a sport or race, a bet in a game of poker, both things in which some effort or skill is involved, or donations via raffles etc., but participating in lotteries by big business is just pissing your money away.
Also, follow the advice of others - if you have a gambling addiction seek professional help.

I was addicted to drinking and it did not help my depression at all. Well to make a long story short, one night I got plastered and I did not remember the night before. I woke up hugging a pan. After that, I slowed my drinking down and cut myself off of it and I have been sober for 5 years now.
