I'm documenting all the keys/gift links that I have for games I don't really want so I can give them to friends or give them out randomly to people... so I'm going through all the bundles and just listing games and their keys in Microsoft Excel and storing it on my flash drive for safe keeping.

This involves turning my "newer" humble bundle gifts into gift links so I can have the link to access it directly on file.

I know the keys likely don't expire, but will those gift links always work? Or am I better off leaving them un-redeemed on the site?

Thanks!!

As i observed before, they aren't expire but this answer won't be so accurate, so please don't rely on it.

If you purchase a gift and send it to your friend, if he redeems the games then it will just say 'already redeemed' whenever you try to go to that link again. If you claim the page you will be able to come back to it. (the friend will probably claim the page).

The plan is to "purchase" a gift, and give it to someone. I'm just not sure when that will be. Might be tomorrow, might be a year from now. Do you think the gift link (a gift link, not a Steam key) will work after an extended period of time?

Yes. Gift links will work for as long as you need to, as far as I know.

i already see peoples, with make gift links for every game in the bundle and these links don't work a long time after, maybe only coincidence but well,
i think the best is store the full link for the bundle, and keep user/password in you brain XD, for create the gift link when you will send it.

i did this.

What do you mean by "don't work"? Does it say they have already been redeemed, or that they've expired?

Yes the links will always work, the only possible problem of turning gifts into links would be someone bruteforcing it except the size of the key means...Insert long math explanation... In other words unless the entire world decides to use every single computer ever built to make the attempt you have nothing to worry about. So it is far more important to be careful what do you with your account and the files where the links are.

+1

There's some other post about this; Some hackers are selling brute force gained Humble keys on trading sites.

Don't know if it's true but to be safe they advise do not generate gift links until they're required...
