You damn heathens. This is why we can't have nice things.
KINGSMAN THE GOLDEN CIRCLE made more in it's 2nd weekend in America than Blade Runner did in it's opening weekend. Seriously. Fuck you guys.

I'll wait for the DVD or Netflix. I can't pause or rewind the movie at the cinema :P

Hey, some of us can't afford to make a theater outing at the moment. Only thing keeping me back.

Gotta say I really expected it to be crap due to sequel syndrome, so all of the raves are a pleasant surprise.

I had an interesting discussion with someone yesterday about the original BR. A 65+ y/o person who never saw the original movie before, very open-minded but not fond of science-fiction. This person found the movie too slow, boring, and... not original ! I've been told how Real humans is way better and deeper on the subject :)
I guess BR is precious for some people for various reasons, but not as widely as it could. Therefore, a sequel is not appealing for the other people.

LOL - 2012 Swedish science fiction/drama - not to say that it is not good, as it has its moments - but it is heavily influenced by many previous sci-fi movies, including the original blade runner (which itself is influenced by earlier stuff as well) - sad that they had not seen it - but I admit that Blade Runner can be an aquired taste, as it requires just taking it all in and not relying on action to maintain a movie audience :P

October 19th me and my friends are planning on going. If it still available that is....
I'm pretty sure not all of my friends will really enjoy it ;). Especially the guy who's driving, but I really need him because I want to drink some beer during the movie ;)

At least I have some time to watch the first movie, I've seen it a couple of times but the last view was many years ago. Need tor efresh my memory ;)

Better check times and schedules at your place earlier. Here, for example, its last show day is October, the 18th.

I know. But that date was the earliest we could arrange.
Jobs, hobbies, wives, children make you a tad less flexible ;)

We'll see....

It was available october 5th here. I would find it odd if a big movie like Bladerunner would run only for 13 days.....

October the 5th here as well, but sites showing all available tickets don't show anything farther than for the 18th, so I guess it is the last day. And yes, I find it weird too, but apparently that's a common thing. If the movie is not some kind of Star Wars N (where N is a natural number), it gets 2 weeks (because I remember SW going for a really long period of time and even fighting with Tarantino for he dared to show Hateful Eight at the time SW was still going on). Though I can be mistaken of course, I am not a frequent movie theater visitor :)

Neither am I sure that I find the chance to go in that time frame, that's why I know when is the last day here :D

Yeah and censoring the movie will ruin any movie for me. Their answer for that censor was nonsense too. Respecting culture or something I don't remember right now.

Yes and I dont think its that strange they are getting more audience.
Its a typical popcorn flick, Bladerunner is a LONG movie with a scifi setting. Not everyone gets as excited as most of us here ;)

In my city, our one theater is showing a single movie in English once a week, on Mondays. Last night it was Blade Runner and I really wanted to go see it but unfortunately it conflicted with other obligations.

Now I have to either see it in french, take a 2-hours road trip to see it in English in another city, or just wait for the Blu-Ray release.

oh, the love for translated movies all around the world.
it's like cinemas do us a favor by changing everything to our country's official language...

I watched it on IMAX last weekend, it was simply great. I was a huge fan of the original though.

Well i mean... they are :)

Just cause 1 person ( in this case OP ) loved the movie ... doesnt mean the rest of the planet will enjoy it as much as he did :P

Thats why such topics are kinda ... pointless

I watched it today with my friends, none of us enjoyed it. While we did agree that it wasn't a bad movie, we could have spent those ~3 hours better.

I was sick last monday when I was originally planning to go and see it - went today. OH. MAI. GOD. What a freakingt MASTERPIECE! I was very afraid of it - I love original Blade Runner, one of my favoritue movies of all time, I didn't believe that anything good can come out of it after 35 years... glad I was wrong ;p
