Shit. I couldn't figure out how much I needed and bought a 3TB HDD last week. (Still sitting on my shelf.) Should have opted for the 4TB, I guess.

580, I've been trying to not install too many games at once so I don't keep dropping games halfway through for other ones.

750 odd games and 900 GB. All AAA titles hog 90% of it.

Yes several of those triple-A's are space hungry for sure!

I have barely installed 50 games and not all 750. Arkham Knight, Alien Isolation and Shadow of Mordar alone take up 120 GB.. LOL

i run a second SSD for games in my system and its my older 120GB drive,so 120GB is the most i can have installed at once without sticking some on my main or storage drives.

65 GB in 11 games. Was over 110 but I finally decided that I think I played enough New Vegas and it's time to move on to other cRPGs.

I filled up a 4TB drive with just Steam games before realising I had better uses for the space and uninstalled everything until/if I actually ever get around to playing them!

I have a 256GB SSD drive and only installed Windows 7, Steam (about 30 games) and a few small applications. For other stuff I use my laptop ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°). Oh wait I also have Steam there. But just a few indie games that can run on it. So less than 500GB obviously.

785GB atm, would be more if I had more space, half my AAA games haven't even been installed yet. If I had the space it would probably be over the 1000 mark.

Eek, this just made me realize I'm just shy of filling my second 2TB drive with only steam games. I have 3 others in this machine for a total of 10TB(4TB free), games are taking up almost a third of my used data 0_0

Now if I can actually get around to playing even half of them! I'm working down the list, that's why I like having everything installed, otherwise I'll never play them!

The poll options surprised me to be honest... I thought at least 90% of people would have below 500 GB, I mean seriously that's like 10 major titles at once (and dozens of smaller games), why would you have that much stuff installed when you don't play it?
I thought you'd have maybe 0-50 GB, 50-100, 100-200, etc. with 500+ being a single poll option.
How many people have/need more than 1 TB of space anyway? Half of the options are from 1TB and up.. I would be surprised if 10% of people even own that much space, let alone use it for only Steam games...

I was actually surprised by the number of users here below 500.

And I would have added several more increments in that range had I known.

I just assumed that most would have over this number, since SG is mainly comprised of power users.

Ah well, at least we can still get a good general idea since single drives are commonly 1TB these days, meaning that most users don't use dedicated drives for their games. I just thought more would.

Do people install and uninstall games when they want to play them? I'd rather just have them installed so I'm more likely to play. I guess when you have limited space it's a commodity, but I've been +5TB hard drive space since... crap, 2008?

And to those curious why I need all that space, VIDEO EDITING. It can take up tons of space when I'm working on a project, I've had a single project over 1TB of footage and edits, that's on top of all the photos (in Raw format, those take up major space, too). Annnnnnd my Flac Music collection, which is another 3TB, OH GOSH I need to buy a new hard drive soon, 10TB isn't cutting it....

... and I'm not even mentioning my NAS with redundant backup, I'm not even going to tell you guys how much drive space I have in that, y'all would make fun of me. I've been a hard drive freak for many years now!

Okay... yeah, I'm gonna tell you all because I'm a narcissist, and it's a rarity I get to brag anyway, especially here since I'm still newer to gaming and haven't upgraded my GPU yet...

So in total, 10TB in my PC, 2x4TB external drives, then my NAS has a 5tb RAID1 redundancy, so 10TB in actuality... so what is that, 28TB in total hard drive space, I have a problem.

Interesting question! now let me see ...

Steam games: somewhere under 100GB if i calculate correctly.

Along with my DRM-Free, my Origin, my Uplay games, the exact amount of disk space is 301GB

If you pick up the DLC for Bioshock Infinite, it will jump in size from 17GB to about 45GB. They included all the localizations with it :\
