So you gain access to those games when you are a subscriber, but they don't get added to your library? And you can download those games so you don't need to keep subscribed? Does this means the quality of monthlies is going to drop?

It is more like trying to counterbalance what some of us, including me, are complaining about: that the Monthly has less and less DRM-free games.

So far only subscribers get access to all the games, you can download them all and keep them if you stop being subscriber. As far as i checked they are not being added to library.
It just means you have access to more games, will they try to make something more out of it i don't know.
And quality of monthlies depends on what kind of games person like playing. Like people say "One man's trash is another man's treasure" :)

I still don't know how to feel about this. Not too interested in the genre, have been waiting to grab the first DS from some sale. And I was planning to play them in order, if at all. So this will only clutter my library further, until I get around to playing the first one..

You can play them in pretty much any order. The gameplay is virtually the same, and the games do not exactly have what you may call a plot, they are mostly just an endless sea of lore.
Also, the PC version of DS1 has… issues.

I'm still debating whether to pause my subscription for next month or not. If I could tell it's going to be as bad as June's monthly, I would definitely pause it, but unfortunately that's not possible. Any ideas how to minimize the risk? Would getting the whole bundle as a gift link be better (as in less hassle) if I want to get rid of it, compared to trading/selling separate keys?

I think yes. I mean if someone else (happened to me in the past) see the new unlocks and blame himself for not buying you could sell the whole bundle for 12$ so there will be no lose for you. On the other hand, if you like it you keep it and you're happy!

Can you actually get one gift link for the entire bundle, and still have it work to get the July bundle after the games are announced?
If so, good idea. You would have a good chance to sell it later for $12 on steamtrades or reddit indiegameswap. Or at least trade it for good games.
If not, another idea is to try now to trade away Dark Souls for a game that's worth $12 to you. As soon as you trust that the trade will happen, buy the bundle and do the trade. For example, today I would probably trade Souls for any game(s) I have on barter.vg that costs $12 total on g2a.

Anyone else who bought the July one starting to feel weird about the Steam summer sale? Like, I don't really dare to buy anything now, since it could be in the Monthly I already own. And of course it will be revealed after the summer sale ends. Sure, I could refund, but I don't really like doing that (I'm weird like that, I know).
Maybe this will be the cheapest summer sale ever, for me. Man, I really don't like blind preorders ... (and yet I do it. If and only if I want the early unlock, though.)

So I'm not buying anything on Steam Summer sale (or on the Steam Store at all), but going by last year's July monthly I should probably also pause my subscription. This means at least $12 to "burn" in other sites. Heading to check when is HB's summer sale...

Only buy games from bundles and you're sure to never get ripped off. I made the mistake of buying some games in the summer sale once and the following day they were tier 1 humble bundle with other games. Wasted over $30.
