I would recommend buying Siege, it's such a breath of fresh air as a FPS fan. Great game.

Isn't it skill based who can get headshots faster and more consistently? Just saying :P your aiming and FPS skills are only half of this game, the other half map knowledge, communication, and intel on the enemy. You can be really good at FPS games and suck at this game, and you can be really sucky at FPS games and still do well, which is pretty fascinating for a FPS game.

a) You don't have to play the try hard ranked mode, casual is a perfectly fine multiplayer experience.
b) Disagree
c) A quick well placed headshot will always beat a random spraying headshot, how you begin the encounter is just as important as what you do in the encounter
d) They fixed peeker's advantage a long time ago

The cash shop is completely optional, all you have to do is buy the base game to have a good experience. Cosmetic skins, weapon skins, charms for your gun? Those don't matter to me at all. And you can easily get 25K renown using challenges and winning matches to unlock the DLC operators for free, which is really awesome, and always give you goals to unlock new things in the future.

Says who?

I just play the game to have fun, not to grind and go through the stress of playing with toxic try hards to reach X rank. Maybe I'm just getting older.

Every gun in the game can 1 hit kill as a headshot, what is your point, their fast rate of fire doesn't matter if you get instantly killed trying to use them. SMGs have drawbacks as well, they aren't perfect.

Someone using an SMG, peeking and hitting you in the head isn't a problem with the gun, he could have done that with any gun type. He won with greater situational awareness, he knew where you were, and hit you fast by surprise.

I haven't noticed peeker's advantage very much at all in the last 6 months. Ubi should always be looking to improve the netcode and hitreg, it isn't perfect I will agree.

I really accept that you do not like the game, but please do not just exaggerate "problems" you think the game has.

I would recommend viewing it as a 'fun multiplayer game', not a 'competitive FPS'.

Virtually all FPS after, say, Quake 3 have had too much in terms of engine issues, network latency issues, murky gameplay, unbalanced weapons / maps etc to be truly 'competitive'. I would definitely label Siege the most fun FPS I have played in years, but never the most competitive.

P.S.: In your higher ranks, do people actually use the drones then instead of mindlessly 'peeking'?

I am always intrigued by peoples 'this game is awesome' vs 'this game is shit' arguments... almost as if the individuals don't realize that general preference and enjoyment is uniquely subjective... and then continue by attempting to convince the guy who loves/hates the game the points that merit the reversal of their opinions. Human psychology is quite interested in general - even more so when discussing non-factual non-universally subjective topics.

I haven't played Siege and I haven't read a lot about it so I don't really have an educated opinion but one thing you forgot to mention is that apparantly a lot of calculations are done client side. I don't know how much of an issue it actually is ingame but considering that bodies and rubble have hitboxes it seems like a pretty big random factor in a competetive multiplayer game that those things can be placed differently for every player and can block bullets.

Well I only have latency problems though...

my friend has a diff ISP than mine but he gets 80ms while I get 192-220...

I think my ISP routes are pretty unoptimized.

Division for 36€… I guess I know where the "crazy" part of the sale comes from.

Funny that I scrolled down and there are two games in total I am mildly interested in: Valiant Hearts and Child of Light. Still not really worth it to install UPlay just for them.

Are you talking about the Gold Edition or do you have different prices ?

Yes. When applicable, I try to refer to the real version of a game not just the first x% of its release that they often call "base game". This is also why I say that I like to wait until a game stops being released before I consider buying it.

Yeah, I try to do the same and wait for Complete and GOTY Editions, just wanted to point it out in all fairness.
Guess 60% off is an ok-ish deal for the Gold Edition, I havent been monitoring prices closely but the prices in general seem a little worse than at the 30 Anniversary sale they had about half a year ago.

i do the exact opposite. i almost never care about any extras anyway. i never understood why people always want to buy deluxe editions on release. in 99% of the cases those have no real value. they just include artbooks and maybe a few useless skins most of the time. but they cost like 10€ more. no thanks. ^^

i recently had one exception. that was For Honor. but in that case i only had to pay 1 csgo key extra. and the deluxe edition included 3 days championship status, which is a xp boost and other things, so it was worth it. at least more than a fucking artbook. ;)

i also generally ignore DLC. there are exceptions, but in almost all cases i am done with a game anyway after the main campaign and don't want to play any more of it. so buying DLC upfront is useless to me (which means, even a year after release i probably would prefer the base game - if still available - over the complete edition). and there are only extremely few cases where i want to play more after beating a game. DmC was such a game. after beating it i bought that DLC with a 2 hour campaign. but i think that's the only game in all of 2016 i played a DLC of (if i don't forget anything).

I partially agree, as I prefer a full story, not a full "game" - so I check what DLC has values to it that I like. For example additional (well-received) story - Headhunter DLCs of BL2 are a good example. I would gladly play them, but I won't buy 5 ~ half an hour missions for 1€ each (on sale!) when I could get a good, whole game for it (like Life is Strange)
And it's not easy, but I try to start thinking the same about achivements as well. If they are rewarding and nice to get then I try to collect all / the more I can, but if they hinder the gameplay, or hard to get then I just ignore them and play the game. It's an over-gamified concept that we don't play games because the (artifical) feeling of it being incomplete, and it really rarely serves us well.

yeah, that's another problem with DLC. often they are way too expensive for what you get. the DmC DLC was 2.5€ on sale, so that was alright for 2 hours. but the normal price is 10€. i don't think it's good enough value to justify 10€ (especially since the gameplay was not as good as the main game).

i like getting achievements, but i rarely go out of my way to get them. but it's nice that they exists. if can give us a feeling of - well, achievement. ^^ and it's very little effort for the devs. if i get an achievement for something hard and can see that only 1% of the players has it, that's nice to know. it's a little extra value for the game. same as leaderboards, i guess.

exactly. nothing to add here. :)

Hah, I'm just the middle of my Child of Light playthrough :D other uPlay games I really spent time were Alice: Madness Returns and Valiant Hearts :P
edit: and I have it installed because of the ubi 30 giveaways anyways :D not like it's a multiple GB program that can't fit

Alice Madness is EA Origin, not uPlay. :-)

Maybe it's a case of, If it's not Steam it doesn't matter what it is LOL.

LOL thanks for the correction :D It was just late, and I don't really use origin, or uplay clients so I tend to mix them, and it didn't help that Alice ran from Steam :)
