Congrats.
I'm sure it's a good thing for some uses, but I'm a firmware developer, and we're getting forced towards Agile by a customer who has heard of it, even though it makes absolutely no sense for our project.

Implementing agility as a new way of working implies a careful change management at the organisation level, or it doesn't go well at all. I hope your next customer will be easier !

I'm not IT, but I deal with their scrum masters a few times a week. Most of the IT teams I interact with are going "Agile". I also received a basic Agile training to understand the concept and better interact with partners within the company who are using it. Good luck with your job, you seem to enjoy it. :)

Congrats! I have used Scrum and it's not easy to be a good Scrum master - especially a professional one xD
May I ask what course did you take? Online? How do you become a professional in Scrum? As you said, it's a pretty good perk on your CV if you have a certificate in Scrum.

I had a 3 days group physical training (2 days can be enough, in my humble opinion, in order to pass the exam - but a longer training is never lost time) with a skilled trainer.
Then I worked at home with Mikhail Lapshin's test quizzes (just google it) and scrum.org Open Assessments. I finally took the online certification and passed it.
I wouldn't say it is very hard, but it needs real preparation (you need 85% of good, complete answers on 80 random questions, in 60 minutes)

Congrats!! Learned about scrum in uni last year, but I've only done it about twice or thrice for our software engineering class because most students don't really care about any of that stuff so I don't get to do it much, haha! I figure I'd probably need to relearn it once I get into the industry though.

Good one you, mate. Agile, scrum, sprints are all the rage at my workplace.

We learned a bit about different agile technics (including scrum) in college, but either it wasn't enough or I didn't payed enough attention, so I already forgot what it was

Thought this meant you were good at rugby at first, now I know another type of scrum. Congrats, hope it helps your career

Congratulations!
I got my Scrum Master certification one year and a half ago, although I have been using Scrum for much more than that. My certification doesn't have levels either but it needs a renewal every 2 years. While it might look good on the CV, I think the practical experience is more important than an online diploma, therefore I am not sure I will take the exam again in order to renew it.
I'd like to hear your opinions about the methodology - did you use it at work and if so, do you think it improved your efficiency?

I guess your cert comes from Scrum Alliance. I'm using Scrum.org which has a different system (no renewal).
I totally agree on the experience being more important than a diploma: in fact, I'm a self-learner, my previous diploma was at the end of generic school at the age of 18. But for the same reasons I'm happy to get a solid and verified theorical basis.
Regarding Scrum itself, I joined an organization which already implemented it, so I don't have a before / after comparison. But I'm now a member of a new re-organisation team, so maybe I can answer you in a few months. As a generic say, I do believe in agility, but it has to be done properly, or it can be a total mess leading to a worse organization.

My friend, I will put myself your name on a chair and reserve a desk in the minute you tell me you're joining :)

Scrum is a project management framework of the Agile family. If you are not in IT, you probably never heard of it (and it's fine !). For my part, I've been trained to Scrum one week ago and I had to pass an official professional certification. Well, I tried this morning and I'm happy to state I passed it :)
To me, it means I'm getting an official skill which will help me in my work. To you, it means a couple giveaways ;)
Level 1, no restriction:
Hidden Folks
Level 3, SGtools 0.33 ratio (not redeemable in Japan):
Little NightmaresEndedFor the record, if you are a Scrum master too, please drop a line ! In particular, if you passed the level 2 or 3 Scrum master cert, I'm interested in talking to you (mine is level 1).
