Steam client shutting down?

I haven't had any problems with the client. I am having problems accessing the store now though :/

Yeah, it started yesterday. I've read something about it possibly being an issue with the Steam Beta. Dunno if that's true.

I've had the same problem lately. I'd like to know what might be causing it and how it can be fixed.

Everyone move to Origin! steamgifts going to change on origingifts, everyone happy.

Same on this end. Not connection to store. Not getting messages, gifts or comments through. Cannot access account details and so on.

Yeah, same problem since yesterday. Reinstalled it twice but didn't help.
Prolly should opt out of Beta, they mess up sometimes.

2-3 times. It must be a bug related to the latest Steam client update.

Here all is working as always, not a single crash. I'm not in the beta channel though

I just opted out of Beta. I'll report back in a couple hours if the problem persists.

The people in this Thread seem to have found atleast one of the causes.

People have reported that unsubscribing from this L4D2 workshop item helps. Weird.

I've had a bunch of issues with this over the past few months. I just thought it was because I have over 2,000 Steam games installed (including F2P, not to mention tools, etc.) and that Steam has too much to process with regards to updates, loading files, etc.

It's probably worth mentioning that I am using the beta client.

yeah i had the same situation i can long in website but the software doesn't work hope to solve soon

I am having a problem with the client, I am just stuck on the Connecting Steam Account and it will not move forward :/ Oh well I guess I will go play D3

Yep. I opted out of beta for now and it seems to have fixed the problem.

Yeah, I've been in the Steam Beta for months. Of all a sudden I get disconnected. Luckily my phone is still logged in. I restarted the computer and it stays on Connecting until it says 'Steam is currently unavailable.''
Luckily, switching back to Stable got me online again. Weird.

False Alarm: After about 1 minute I got disconnected. So that doesn't work. Check this out.
