Why not gmail?

Switching is huge pain in the ass.

What's the point of having everything imaginable stored in one place like Gmail has? Also the UI is ugly as fuck.

i have both gmail and hotmail - i prefer my hotmail due to the interface and spam-filtering works better it seems

i just use my gmail to sign up shit sites that might send me spammail or sell my information

My main email is on gmail and I have I think 8 or so old emails there as well. But for steam and stuff I use mail.com just because I can get the address with my steam id in it since they have like 100+ domains.

Since hotmail changed to outlook, it's been REAAAAAAALLY slow for me quite often, but its what I use for general life such as keeping e-receipts. I have a gmail I use for gaming stuff (like here) and its much quicker, but I dont like the layout at all.

The reason why you should all use Google is because they have a 2 step verification that sends a code to your mobile phone when you log in. This is extremely efficient because it means that a hacker having both your email credentials and your steam account credentials can't hack into your account and change it to be his.

And it's possible to get those credentials, from people watching youtube videos that feature "hacks" that you download and they steal all your browser's cookies while only one in 40-something antiviruses can detect it. Yes I have a friend who has been doing this for years and another friend who has a minecraft account and a steam account from that guy.

The only reason I use gmail is due to the fact my old email was slogged down with spam and thousands of facebook emails. my initial reason for the setting up of it was youtube however - it was just easier to bring things together,

gmail 2 step verification is best thing ever, already on gmail.

I'm trying hard to shift my mail elsewhere from gmail on principle (PRISM) and for privacy (constant scanning of my e-mails for served ads and lord knows what else).

I'm tired of the Google juggernaut trying to capitalize on me.

In the end, it was MY choice to use their FREE service, though. I plan to remedy that in the near future.

As soon as Hotmail allowed email forwarding to a gmail account, quite recently, I switched.

No.. sort.. function. That and the lack of privacy are the two major things that really bother me about Gmail, however, I've been using it for nine years now, and don't plan to switch.

I use Yahoo still. I don't have any problems with it. I have a gmail but never use it.
