Rothfuss or Gaiman would be my first choices, but Sanderson is a brilliant writer, and Jordan almost as good.

This is pretty much exactly what I was going to write! Still desperately waiting for the next Kingkiller.

Thanks for the giveaways!

In my opinion the reverse order would have been better: first trying to figure out the quote via hints, later give the option of decoding the anwers. I really don't like to give a wrong answer purposely, and decoding is just so easy with the right tools.

I can't see the hints for some reason, anyone else having the same issue?

Have you tried refreshing the page? That's what I have to do to get them to show up. The timer-based hints never appear for me without doing so.

Yeah, I'll try a different browser later on as well, it's the first puzzle to give me such grief. Since yesterday the hints timer is stuck at 1m, really weird.

Oh well, gotta keep trying :)

Do you have any extensions or other software that might be blocking the scripts in the page from functioning properly? I use uMatrix and uBlock Origin and constantly have to futz around with settings on sites to get things to work right (though to me that effort is worth the control I get over performance, security, whether or not I want to look at a site's ads, etc.).

This is getting stranger by the minute. Tried Chrome, Firefox, IE and Edge (!) both regular and incognito, with all plugins / extensions disabled, no luck. I also tried a few other puzzles, this is the only one I'm having issues with.

Oh well, guess I'll wait for another similar event to test my fantasy geek-on :)

Bump for solved!

I'm a Tolkien nut and have been for most of my life, so I have to vote that way. If you haven't read it yet, I can strongly recommend picking up the deeper, more polished edit of Turin's story in Children of Hurin. Even before that version of events was released, that was my favorite storyline of all the writings on Middle-Earth, and it's only gotten better.

Really enjoyed the witcher series from Sapkowski, current favourit. Going to start reading Salvatore books after finishing the Inheritance Cycle.

Those were some inspiring quotes. Didn't enter for any game but just reading the quotes were a win for me.

Thank you sincerely.

Thanks for the puzzle. Those were some great quotes :)
