Two here, but the second is only really for sensible things (job applications etc.)
My main I've had for ~15 years, it's been used all over the internet, and in the past ten days I've received a whopping 24 junk emails, only one of which actually went through to the inbox. Junk folder takes seconds to check every few days. Companies like Sega aren't selling addresses off to third parties.

Exactly. And actually, most companies do not sell your addresses to no one. At least not big ones or really popular, because that would be bad. (At least most of them don't do it, we know already WHO are the ones who do it.)
Maybe they get stolen, but that's it.
All this kids and their fear of their personal information being sold to others. Geez.

This is why you make dummy emails for things like this...but i doubt Sega would go back on the free thing after taking your e-mail in exchange as that would open up a can of worms they can not afford...
That being said i think they should have had a better way to do it,they should have knowing free games would be popular

They do want your e-mail and when you give it to them you acknowledge and give them permission for them to send you there new letter and for them to share it with partners.
I assume they give the games for free and get some kind of kick back from who they share your e-mail with...
Still the keys where sent out...i do not see how giving your e-mail is that much more of a burden then signing into steam to redeem them...people just inpatient...gotta have it now.

There is so much rage in the streets over having to hand an email over to their domain. This kind of binary thinking is condemning them like criminals due to not having a system in place to automate the process efficiently. This is also how the origin stories of many villains start too.
