It is a little known fact that 7% of Steam users own 93% of the games. Furthermore, 47% never buy games at full price, although they do buy discounted titles. While the heavily subsidized weekend deals and midweek madnesses help small library owners, those who spend over $2500 a year will benefit the most from the new proposed price cuts.

Heh, I (and obviously many others) use January 1st on many sites when I don't want to give them my real birth date. It's often the default birth month/day, and even when it's not, it's usually the easiest to specify. It's also the easiest date to remember. There are definitely logical reasons behind this false birth date.
