One thing though, OP created this 2 days ago and out of 155 comments(156 including this one), none are from the OP.. Not even to thank those who offered money or sympathy, just saying.

Chronic illness is a terrible thing. I hope everything goes smoothly for them. I wish I could help out, but pretty much all of my money is going towards my own medical bills, and that site doesn't accept Steam wallet funds or bitcoin. o__o'

And as for the people who're 'hating'. Don't take it personally, 'cause the Internet turns us all into cynics sooner or later. There are just too many rotten apples out there.

well, i did some research on lyme and some special therapy in germany mentioned in the fundraiser article. since i am a german, i was interested in those special clinic to check out what they offer.

one clinic stood out as one of the first results (and is probably the one she aims for) and looking into their offered therapies i can say that its mostly scam.

so i strongly suggest not to fall for expensive treatment that does have no proof or scientific base. its just a huge waste of money and hope for something that does not work.

i suggest before taking any expensive treatment, do a research (starting) on sites such as http://www.sciencebasedmedicine.org or http://www.quackwatch.org/ and not fall for some advertisement in forums.

so again: do not waste money and hope on those scams. and if you think whats the harm trying?, well - do the research.

Come on already, how many times more will this thread be revived? Some mod close this already! Last time there was a thread asking for donations similar like this it was closed within an hour, the mod stating 'this really doesn't belong here', and begging threads are generally closed within that time frame as well. Why was this allowed to survive this long?
