As the title said, I recently got exactly 2000 games on Steam and 500 DLCs, so this is a good occasion to celebrate: Here are 200 games and 5 DLCs for you to enjoy.

All games are of the point&click or HOG category, 2 or 3 of them unbundled.

There should be exactly 200 games. If you count only 199, then maybe I did a mistake. Let's see, there is 1 copy of UndercoVer Missions: Operations KursK, 6 copies of yesterday Origins, ... Where is my giveaway of Lost HoriZon ? Ah, right, I have no copy left. So 8 copies plus 7 copies makes 15, then eight copies makes 23, then... I give up.

I'm pretty sure I can count until 5, so there shouldn't be any mistake in the DLCs.

I choose DLCs for games that almost everyone should have (sorry for those who hoped for a giveaway for 20xX Soundtrack). the Walking Dead and tropico were given away on humblE bundle so it's a safe bet that most readers will have them. There are a lot of DLCs for Tropico 4, so I choose the ones with good reviews, I hope you will like them! Again, I repeat, sorry for those who wanted DLCs for popular games like NaRUTO SHIPPUDEN, but I preferred to be safe and I choose games that everyone should have.

Have fun!

I'm not sure what is sadder that I have almost more DLC then I have games or that the OP has over 2000 games but less DLC than me....

I don't get this whole thing of a game count and chucking a library full of trash for a number but eh have at it.Thanks for sharing and congrats on 2000.

P.S. I hope nobody tries and convince me that Steam has 2,000 games worth owning it doesn't.Yes, I said it Steam is mostly full of mediocre-trash games so grab the pitchforks aka blacklist.

i'm surprised I didn't get more posts like yours tbh, I expected many of them, and I totally respect your opinion.

I'm pretty sure Steam has at least 500 games worth owning, but I 100% agree that almost 70% of my library isn't worth owning, and 90% of steam is mediocre-trash games.

Although it depends on what you mean by "worth owning". For example, almost 20% of my library (probably a lot more actually) was obtained for free (on giveaways on indiegala, gleam, humble bundle, etc) and gave me trading cards that I sold on the market. With this money, I was able to get sufficently many $$ to buy expensive games I want. Were these trash games worth owning ?

There are also many games I bought not because I wanted to play, but because selling trading cards gave me more money that what I paid for them (even accounting all fees transforming real $$ into steam wallet and back when applicable), where these games worth owning ?

With possibly a few exceptions (I'd say 50 out of these 2000 games), all other games in my library that I don't want to play are there because they were either free or gave me a net profit, so I didn't chuck the library full of trash "for a number" but "for profit", which may or may not be worse.

Playing this kind of meta-game is something I really enjoy. The hardest part is deciding what you consider ethically correct or not in this whole procedure. I am indeed profiting from people buying these trading cards I sell, and it's not clear why they are actually buying them. There is also the matter of how I obtained these "free" games and whether I am actually depriving someone of these free keys. For example, I stopped entering giveaways on SG for games I didn't want to play a long time ago.

This is definitely time consuming but, hey, it's a hobby and I find it fun, so...

Yeah, my game count is full of free games but from time to time after I get the cards I remove the ones I don't want from my account to keep it clean. Some games I have added to have just because it was worth supporting the developer/publisher even if I don't play it much.

In the end, it's a hobby even if it's one I find a bit odd that is okay we all do things other people find odd or strange.I ended up with so much DLC because of bundles and cheap deals and sales on complete games, DLC collections, game collections that are cheaper than buying the games I want on their own. That and well publishers like Beth like to make complete packages way cheaper than buying DLC.

Finally, some games just have a crap ton of DLC like CIV V.In the end I try and only buy games I want and now have shifted to trying to buy only games I want to play to lessen the backlog that I will probably never finish.

Have fun with your hobby and try like you might I doubt you will ever get them all giving how often games are added to Steam these days it's becoming a dump site for trash games.

Congrats on the milestone, Nimmy! And thank you so much for putting this together for all of us. :D

Side note, I really appreciate that you lumped all the copies into one giveaway listed in a chart rather than spreading them randomly through a train. Saves us all some time.
