So how have you wasted money this sale season?

I've bought some pretty cool New Year gifts for my niece (still in the process of choosing gifts for my nephew), a small stock of deeply discounted hand cream and two large boxes of contact lenses. And that's it, I'm basically broke right now and probably won't buy anything else.

No, I will buy games until I finish my backlog, +1 too many times created a huge library I not sure what did I buy.

I bought a new monitor, so that I have two now. I figured it might make coding a bit easier.

I bought a new light bulb for the bathroom yesterday since the old one ran out. Does that count?
I couldn't find the exact same as the old one anywhere, so the last place offered me a "close alternative' while promising it would be "even brighter than the old one". Yeah, it's total shit; even as a temporary measure I think I was better off without the cheap knockoff's low light hurting my eyes so definitely a waste of money. :T

Got my 13th month pay in October, so I've decided to buy a good 4K TV. I've always wanted one. Ended up buying Samsung QN95A for 2170 €

Bought a new Monitor (Dell S2721DGF) and power supply (Seasonic FOCUS PX-750).
Both had good sales, and the ones I've been using are between 8-10 years old so was getting time to replace them.

I don't know how I qualified for the 2 x $15 and the 2 x $10 first app sign in promo, but I'm not going to question it. I should have another $10 promo in 48 hours. I'm not sure there'll be anything worthwhile on sale by then, but who knows.

Yup, all of those are Switch games. I don't have easy access to my PC since I injured my foot and can't walk, so my Switch is helping me get past the boredom of sitting around all day and saving what's left of my sanity.

So far I have restocked on coffee and tea, and I think that is as far as I am going to go. The next major purchase I am planning is a house, so I am focusing more on saving money right now than spending it.

As for games, I keep looking at the sales to see if there is anything I want, but then I look at my backlog and realize that buying anything at all would just be silly.

A switch and a few games, as well as a new TV since the one in the living room needed end of life care. No plans for more tho.

I tried to focus on gifts but caved and bought some things for myself.

For my 4 nieces: A Mandalorian and Grogu Lego set ($13), a Disney princess hair care set ($12), 30 pack of Sharpies ($12), LED strip lights ($7.50).
For my mom: A photo mouse pad ($5) and a free 8 x 10 photo (just need a frame)
For myself, I got for the Switch: Fire Emblem: Three Houses ($27) and Paper Mario: The Origami King ($27) and a 24 pack of energy drinks for $30.

Thinking about getting Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge and Pistol Whip for the Oculus Quest which are on sale right now.

Well, I won 50€ in the current Paypal raffles, so technically I "only" spent 350€ on a new phone (Samsung S20 FE) :P
Which was desperately needed... the screen of my current one turns black whenever the phone is cold, or rather not hot (even room temp is too cold), so basically I can't use it outside or at work, which... well, sucks for a phone...

I was considering a coffee machine, a phone (mines 5 years old and dying..) and a replacement monitor for my secondary monitor -24" or under (mine has a huge scratch down it) , but might put that off for a little bit now after focusing on bedroom stuff. I could claim the monitor partially on tax though.... :/
